The San Beda Debate Society congratulates its participating members on their run in this year’s 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘆𝘁𝗮, held last January 23–25 and January 31 to February 1, 2026.

This year’s installation, hosted online by the Far Eastern University Oratorical and Debate Council, brought together top representatives from collegiate debating and judging teams across the country.

SBU B (Reuben de Leon, 3rd-Year BS Legal Management; Denver Provido, 4th-Year AB Literature) pushed through as contenders in the Grand Finals of the Union Cup Championship, while SBU A (Maxinne Marie, 3rd-Year BS Legal Management; Arvin Camariño, 2nd-Year Juris Doctor) advanced to the National Pre-Octo Finals.

Year after year, Bedan Debaters continue to ignite new milestones and carry the torch of honor, victory, and glory. 🗣️

After 7 preliminary rounds held from January 23–25, both teams of San Beda University–Manila advance to the elimination rounds of the NDC.

SBU A – Maxinne Lampa & Arvin Camariño (COL)
Broke as the 43rd-ranked team in the Philippines, with 11 Team Points and 1070 Speaker Points.

SBU B – Reuben de Leon & Denver Provido
Broke as the 2nd Union Cup Breaking Team and 1st Open Reserve Breaking Team, with 11 Team Points and 903 Speaker Points.

From the Lion’s Den, we send our loudest roars as they head into the out-rounds starting January 31, competing among the best debaters in the country for the title of National Debate Champion.
