Thirteen years have passed, yet your memory remains alive in our hearts.

You were more than a classmate—you were a brother whose friendship, laughter, and countless memories helped define our MAAP journey. Though you are no longer with us, your legacy continues to unite us.

To the members of DESALEAS Class 2006, let us pause for a moment of silence and lift up prayers in loving memory of our dear brother, Mark Famadulan.

Forever remembered. Forever our brother.

A Legacy Fulfilled.

On 03 June 2026, at the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP), Kamaya Point, Mariveles, Bataan, we celebrate the graduation of Ens. Mark Christian Famadulan—the son of our beloved classmate, Engr. Mark Anthony Famadulan, who passed away almost thirteen years ago.

For many of us in MAAP DESALEAS Class of 2006, this moment is more than a graduation. It is a homecoming of memory, love, sacrifice, and brotherhood.

Though his father was not physically present to witness this day, he was not absent.

He was there in the name Mark Christian carries.
He was there in the pride of family and friends.
He was there in the quiet remembrance, the grateful smiles, and the embrace of classmates who stood in his place.

Some members of DESALEAS were blessed to witness this milestone and celebrate with him—not only as friends of his father, but as brothers who continue to honor a bond that time, distance, and even death cannot erase.

Twenty years after our own graduation, our class now celebrates the first DESALEAS legacy to walk across that same sacred threshold.

What a joyful and meaningful moment for a class that once marched together as young cadets, and now stands together as fathers, mentors, brothers, and keepers of one another’s story.

To Ens. Mark Christian Famadulan, congratulations. Your success is your own, but it also carries the love of your family, the memory of your father, and the pride of an entire class who has watched your journey with grateful hearts.

To our brother, Engr. Mark Anthony Famadulan, your legacy lives on.

And to DESALEAS Class of 2006, may this remind us once again: we are not only classmates by history. We are family by commitment.

May we always find strength in one another.
May we honor those who came before us by caring for those who come after us.
And may the descendants and legacies of DESALEAS continue to inspire and guide generation after generation.

⚓ Three Milestones. One Date. Countless Memories.

For many people, June 3 is just another day on the calendar.

For us in MAAP DESALEAS Class of 2006, it is a date woven into our story—a reminder of where we started, what we built together, and the legacy we are now witnessing unfold.

For those unfamiliar, MAAP (Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific) is where our journey began, while DESALEAS (Descendants of the Argonauts of the Seven Sea Leagues) is the brotherhood we carried with us long after graduation.

🗓️ June 3, 2002 — Where It All Began

It was the day we arrived at MAAP as strangers.

Shaved heads, heavy bags, nervous smiles, and no idea what lay ahead. We came from different places and different backgrounds, but the challenges we faced together slowly turned strangers into classmates, classmates into friends, and friends into brothers & sisters.

None of us could have imagined then that the bonds formed during those first difficult days would still be carrying us decades later.

🗓️ June 3, 2014 — Strengthening the Bond

Twelve years later, we took another important step together.

DESALEAS Inc. was officially incorporated, giving form to something we had already felt for years—that our connection did not end at graduation.

Whether at sea or ashore, in moments of success or times of need, we committed ourselves to remaining connected and looking after one another.

🗓️ June 3, 2026 — Watching the Legacy Continue

Today, our story reaches another meaningful milestone.

As MAAP celebrates the graduation of Class 2026, we proudly witness something many of us never imagined during our plebe days: the graduation of the son of one of our fallen classmates.

What makes this moment even more meaningful is that DESALEAS members came together to help support his educational journey. Through the generosity and solidarity of our classmates, we were able to lend a hand when it mattered most.

Seeing him walk across that stage today is more than an achievement. It is a tribute to his father, our brother, whose memory remains part of who we are. It is also a reminder that the values we learned together continue to live on through the next generation.

From standing on the parade grounds as anxious plebes in 2002, to building an organization in 2014, to celebrating the son of a fallen brother in 2026, June 3 reminds us that DESALEAS has never been just about a class.

It has always been about people, relationships, and a commitment to never leave one another behind.

To our classmates, brothers & sisters, and lifelong friends in MAAP DESALEAS Class of 2006—thank you for being part of this journey.

Happy DESALEAS Day.

Here’s to the memories we’ve shared, the friendships we’ve kept, and the generations still to come.

⚓ May the anchor hold. May we continue to lift each other up. And may we always find our way back to one another.
