CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
2026 PANACCEA NURSING EXCELLENCE AWARDS
As we prepare for the PANACCEA Convention this December 2026, we are proud to introduce the PANACCEA Nursing Excellence Awards, a recognition program created to honor nurses who have made meaningful contributions to nursing education, professional practice, research, knowledge-sharing, leadership, and service.
At PANACCEA, we believe that knowledge must be shared, excellence must be recognized, and those who make a difference in nursing deserve to be celebrated.
This year, we will recognize outstanding nurses in four award categories:
1. TWO PANACCEA KNOWLEDGE IN ACTION AWARD – NURSING EDUCATION
For Excellence in Educating and Empowering Nurses. Recognizes educators, clinical instructors, nurse educators, trainers, mentors, and other nurses who have demonstrated exceptional contribution to nursing education and the development of learners and fellow nurses.
Criteria:
• Excellence in teaching/educational practice – 25%
• Impact on learners – 25%
• Innovation in education – 15%
• Mentorship and professional development – 15%
• Contribution to nursing knowledge – 10%
• Professional service – 10%
2. TWO PANACCEA KNOWLEDGE IN ACTION AWARD – NURSING PRACTICE
For Excellence in Nursing Practice and Patient Care. Recognizes nurses who demonstrate outstanding professional or clinical practice and who have contributed significantly to improving patient care, safety, quality, or nursing services.
Criteria:
• Excellence in nursing practice – 25%
• Impact on patient care/outcomes – 25%
• Innovation and improvement in practice – 15%
• Evidence-based practice/quality improvement – 15%
• Leadership and mentorship – 10%
• Contribution to the nursing profession – 10%
3. TWO PANACCEA EXCELLENCE IN NURSING RESEARCH AND KNOWLEDGE
For Advancing Nursing Through Research, Scholarship, and Evidence. Recognizes nurses whose research, scholarship, publications, innovations, or evidence-based initiatives have contributed meaningfully to the advancement of nursing knowledge, education, or practice.
Criteria:
• Significance of research/contribution to knowledge – 25%
• Impact on nursing practice, education, or policy – 25%
• Quality and rigor of scholarly work – 15%
• Dissemination/publication/presentation – 15%
• Innovation – 10%
• Research mentorship/capacity-building – 10%
4. TWO PANACCEA LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE EXCELLENCE AWARD
For Transformative Leadership and Service to the Nursing Profession. Recognizes nurses who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, professional service, advocacy, mentorship, community involvement, or initiatives that have strengthened the nursing profession.
Criteria:
• Leadership and influence – 25%
• Contribution to the nursing profession – 20%
• Community/service impact – 20%
• Mentorship and development of others – 15%
• Innovation and initiative – 10%
• Professional integrity and values – 10%
WHO MAY BE NOMINATED?
The awards are open to qualified Registered Nurses whether or not they are PANACCEA members.
A nominee:
✔ Must be a Registered Nurse in good professional standing
✔Must have at least five (5) years of professional nursing experience
✔ May be working in the Philippines or overseas
✔ May be a PANACCEA member or non-member
✔ Must demonstrate significant contributions or accomplishments relevant to the award category
✔ Must provide verifiable evidence supporting the nomination
✔ May be nominated for only one award category for the 2026 awards
WHO MAY NOMINATE?
*The nominator must be a bona fide PANACCEA member in good standing.
*You may nominate a colleague, mentor, educator, clinical nurse, nurse leader, researcher, or another deserving Filipino nurse, even if that person is not a PANACCEA member. You belong to PANACCEA. You know someone who deserves to be recognized. Nominate them.
WHAT MUST BE SUBMITTED?
Each nomination must include:
1. Completed PANACCEA Nomination Form
Basic information about the nominee, nominator, professional position, experience, and award category.
2. Nomination Statement – maximum 1,000 words
The nominator should clearly explain:
• Why the nominee deserves the award
• Major accomplishments
• Contribution to nursing
• Impact on patients, learners, colleagues, or the profession
• Specific examples demonstrating excellence
3. Professional Curriculum Vitae/Profile – maximum 5 pages
Include relevant education, professional experience, certifications, research, publications, presentations, awards, leadership, and professional service.
4. Evidence of Accomplishments
Depending on the category, evidence may include:
📌 Certificates and recognitions
📌 Research publications/presentations
📌 Educational materials or programs developed
📌 Teaching/learning innovations
📌 Quality improvement or evidence-based practice projects
📌 Clinical protocols or programs developed
📌 Patient-care or service outcomes
📌 Leadership initiatives
📌 Community service projects
📌 Documentation of professional contributions
📌 Other verifiable evidence of impact
5. Two Letters of Recommendation
At least two professional recommendations describing the nominee's specific contributions, achievements, and impact.
HOW WILL THE NOMINEES BE EVALUATED?
All nominations will undergo independent review by the PANACCEA Awards Committee.
The committee will evaluate nominations based on:
*Excellence, Impact, Innovation, Evidence, Leadership • Contribution to Nursing
*The awards will not be based on popularity, number of years in service, number of awards received, or PANACCEA membership.
EVIDENCE OVER CLAIMS.
A nominee must demonstrate specific, meaningful, and verifiable contributions to nursing.
The final awardee will be determined based on the established scoring system and the overall strength of the submitted evidence.
WHY PANACCEA IS DOING THIS
*PANACCEA believes that recognition should go beyond titles and positions.
*There are nurses teaching in classrooms, caring for patients at the bedside, conducting research, mentoring young nurses, leading hospitals, serving communities, and quietly making a difference every day.
We want to find them.
We want to recognize them.
And we want to tell their stories.

DEADLINE OF SUBMISSION
All completed nomination forms and supporting documents must be submitted on or before November 7, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
No submissions will be accepted after the deadline. We encourage all PANACCEA members to start identifying and nominating nurses who truly embody excellence, service, leadership, education, research, and meaningful contributions to nursing.
