The Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation Philippines, Inc. just celebrated its 20th anniversary last Saturday and it was a night filled with participation, gratitude, reflection and recognition.
The program kicked off with the participation from two NCFPI patients who proudly led the singing of the National Anthem and opening prayer. Later in the program, another patient also showcased his skills in singing, entertaining everyone during dinner with his soothing voice. It was a beautiful moment as it was a reminder that behind every patient is a story worth celebrating.
Appreciation was also given all throughout the night, giving thanks to those who kept the organization alive for the past twenty years. The founding partners, professional volunteers, key benefactors, partnered organizations and institutions, and NCFPI employees, all were given appreciation for their contribution to making NCFPI what it is today.
One of the highlights of the evening was the President's Report delivered by the NCFPIโs President Dr. Bernard Tansipek who shared the numbers regarding the operation of the foundation. In the span of 20 years, the foundation has provided 44,025 treatments and services to patients across the country.
44,205 is not just a number. It represents 44,025 moments where lives were changed and hope was given to children and families who needed it most. Hearing the report surely encouraged everyone in attendance to continue supporting the foundationโs mission for the years to come.
The Executive Director, Ms. Audrie Semeona Frias, welcomed the newly appointed board of trustees, and acknowledged the foundationโs partner sponsors.
The culminating activity of the evening was the First Dr. M. Samuel Noordhoff Service Award. This was awarded to Mr. Paolo Sison for his unwavering service to NCFPI and its patients.
For years, Mr. Sison has faithfully led the Speech arm of NCFPI, often carrying the responsibility almost entirely on his own. The foundation is truly grateful to have him on the team, and relieved that he now has volunteers helping him carry the weight of the mission.
As the evening went on, I realized why NCFPI continues to be one of the leading organizations that provide comprehensive cleft and craniofacial care here in the Philippines.
It is not simply about the number of CLEFT patients it has served but the values that have guided the foundation from the very start.
Compassion โ Serving patients requires a lot of compassion in order to fully understand why the professionals, volunteers, and staff are part of the organization and why they choose to do this every single day.
Love โ Alongside compassion, love keeps the work going. Without love, helping patients would be in vain and would not truly fulfill our hearts.
Excellence โ NCFPI does not treat patients simply for the sake of it or to increase the numbers. We do everything with excellence because we know that each and every Filipino deserves our best.
Forward โ NCFPI will never stop providing its services until the last Filipino with a cleft condition in need has been treated.
Togetherness โ The mission of ensuring that every Filipino can proudly smile was never meant to be a one man job.
From Day 1 until the 20th year, groups of people have continued working together, moving forward with compassion, love, and excellence as they strive to ensure that every Filipino can proudly smile.
The Annual Membership Meeting was more than just a celebration of the achievements from the past two decades. It was a great reminder for everyone of how far NCFPI has come, how many lives have been changed, and how many more Filipinos will continue to receive not just our services but also hope in the years ahead.
