PACS, Inc. is a national, non-stock, non-profit organization geared towards the awareness and improvement of chemistry in the Philippines.

It is a strong and dynamic national student organization of proactive and conscientious Filipino Chemistry students. The Philippine Association of Chemistry Students, Inc. (PACS, Inc.), is a strong and dynamic national student organization of self-directing and conscientious Filipino Chemistry students committed to upholding excellence in the study and application of chemistry, which is responsive

to the needs of the nation. Its population is comprised of undergraduate chemists, biochemists, chemical engineers, and other courses that are tied together by chemistry. Since its establishment in 1964, PACS, Inc. continues to promote the advancement and application of science, particularly chemistry, to all Filipino students through spearheading various projects and activities aimed towards increased competence in chemistry, scientific excellence, and socio-cultural awareness. is also the student arm of the Philippine Federation of Chemistry Societies (PFCS), an umbrella organization organized in 1988 to reach and provide service to professional chemists, chemical technicians, educators, students, and professionals in the allied disciplines.

𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗠 𝗢𝗙 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗘: 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗦, 𝗜𝗡𝗖. 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗘 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗛

This month of June, the Philippine Association of Chemistry Students, Inc. celebrates the resilience, courage, and contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community. We stand in solidarity with their long-standing fight against discrimination, exclusivity, and inequality.

At its core, the field of Chemistry is seen as how atoms arrange and separate themselves in order to build everything around us, similar to how each one of us has stories to contribute in order to make a lasting difference in the society. Our uniqueness as individuals also means that we realize how each one of us has our own identity that we carry with pride, regardless of who we are and where we come from.

However, more than just a celebration of diversity, we at PACS, Inc. recognize that we are still far from a society where human rights and safety are fostered within our communities. LGBTQIA+ Filipinos continue to experience stigma, prejudice, and discrimination and often confront social pressures to hide their identities and expressions in order to gain acceptance. Moreover, the lack of legal protections and gender-affirming healthcare continues to persist because the visibility of the LGBTQIA+ community is deeply rooted in tolerance, not acceptance.

This Pride Month, PACS, Inc. is one in promoting education and supporting policies such as the SOGIE Equality Bill that has been long standing in Congress. It is high time that all Filipinos, regardless of SOGIESC, receive equal opportunities and access to resources, and have a legal framework that penalizes all forms of abuse and harassment surrounding self-expression.

In a community where LGBTQIA+ scientists, students, educators, and advocates exist, PACS, Inc. reaffirms its commitment to be a catalyst for social change. Just like how elements are unique and have a value and place of their own, every person deserves a life where they can take up space and be themselves without the fear of judgment.

Whatever the color of your identity is, everyone deserves to feel loved and respected. Mabuhay ang sangkabaklaan!

Our country’s path toward independence is defined not merely by historical milestones, but by the power of unity and collective effort, much like the strength found in chemical bonds.

PACS, Inc. remains steadfast in our commitment to advancing the field of chemistry and realizing its potential to shape a brighter future for our country.

As we honor the sacrifices of our Filipino heroes, we embrace our responsibility to preserve and strengthen the freedom we hold.
