𝐀𝐝𝐔 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 & 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐦

The Adamson University (AdU) Department of Media and Communication issued a notice regarding a circulating email falsely claiming that the department is conducting an alleged project funding program, today, Oct. 14.

The email states that students’ projects have been chosen for a project funding program by the university and urges recipients to direct them to a link about the supposed grant.

However, the department clarified that it is not currently sponsoring or funding projects, refuting the email’s claims.

The COMMunity is advised to remain vigilant and refrain from opening suspicious links from unverified sources to avoid potential phishing attempts.

Some days will feel heavier than others, and that’s okay. You’re allowed to slow down, take a breath, ask for help, and give yourself the same kindness you so freely give to others.

This World Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s remind one another that it’s okay to not be okay, that asking for help is a sign of strength, and that no one has to face their struggles alone. Check in on your loved ones, listen without judgment, and remember to be gentle with yourself, too. Sometimes, even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference. 🤍

On September 21, 1972, martial law was declared under Ferdinand Marcos Sr. What followed was a period marked by widespread arrests, torture, killings, enforced disappearances, and the suppression of fundamental freedoms.

During the period, about 107,200 people experienced human-rights violations; around 70,000 were arrested, many without warrants; some 34,000 were subjected to torture; and roughly 3,240 people were killed by military and police forces. Behind these numbers are real people, families, and communities whose lives were deeply affected.

Remembering is not about living in the past. It is about honoring those who suffered, recognizing what happened, and refusing to let history be erased.

Not a hero. Never a hero. Never forget.
