The Phi Lambda Delta Sorority is the premier sorority of the UP College of Medicine. Since its founding in 1969, the Sorority has shared in the vision and mission of the College of Medicine to produce a community of doctors who possess a heightened social consciousness through a firm commitment to excellence and leadership in community-oriented medical service directed especially to the underserve

d. The Phi Lambda Delta Sorority distinguishes itself through its diverse activities all-year-round. Upholding the core values of excellence, leadership, service and sisterhood, the sorority gives importance to activities that fall under its socio-civic arm, the PagKalMa (Pagkalinga para sa Kalusugan ng Mamamayan). Benefiting patients in the UP-Philippine General Hospital and several indigent communities, in partnership with various non-government organizations, such activities provide an avenue for each member to acquire a work ethic of professionalism and excellence, serve the community, enhance interpersonal relationships, explore her talents and reach her highest potential. In our 45 years, we have produced over eight hundred outstanding lady doctors, occupying prominent positions and spanning different fields of specialization – both here and around the world. With 45 years of experience and over 800 members, the sorority has nowhere to go but forward and upward.

Last March 21, 2026, the Phi Lambda Delta Sorority held its new initiative, Reweave: Threads of Care at the 6/F Henry Sy Sr. Building, UP College of Medicine in collaboration with the UP-PGH Department of Pediatrics Division of Newborn Medicine. This workshop was an opportunity for participants not only to learn the fundamentals of crochet, but to create handmade, heartfelt bonnets and mittens for the use of newborn babies at the Philippine General Hospital, including premature infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This help protect our youngest patients, providing them protection, thermoregulation and comfort in the earliest days. 🧢

Let's continue to weave these threads of care for the little ones who need it the most. 🧡✨
