Blockchain Council of the Philippines Names Luis Buenaventura as President
The Blockchain Council of the Philippines (BCP) has appointed Luis Buenaventura as its new President, reinforcing the organization’s leadership as blockchain adoption accelerates across the country.
Buenaventura represents GCash (Mynt – Globe Fintech Innovations) on the BCP Board in his capacity as Head of Cryptocurrencies. GCash has been a member of the BCP Board since 2022, with Buenaventura playing a key role in strengthening the Council’s initiatives, including the growing stature of the Philippine Block Awards.
BCP Chair Donald Lim will continue to serve as Chairman, ensuring continuity in the Council’s mission to promote responsible blockchain innovation for national development.
A Filipino crypto author, artist, and entrepreneur, Buenaventura is a former Philippine Country Manager of Yield Guild Games and a co-founder of BloomX, a licensed cryptocurrency exchange. He is also recognized as the first Filipino NFT artist to have works sold at Christie’s and Sotheby’s.
Buenaventura has authored three books on cryptocurrencies and has led global discussions at the United Nations, the OECD, and other international forums.
“The Council’s role is more critical than ever this 2026, both in terms of industry partnerships and nation-building,” Buenaventura said. “We look forward to open collaboration with the wider blockchain community.”
