The Coast Guard Civil Relations Service (CGCRS) joins the Filipino-Chinese community in celebrating the Chinese New Year and extends its sincere greetings of Xīn Nián Kuài Lè (Happy New Year).

This celebration marks renewal, unity, and hope. The CGCRS recognizes the valuable contributions of the Chinese community to national development and affirms its commitment to strengthening partnerships built on mutual respect and cooperation.

As the civil relations arm of the Philippine Coast Guard, CGCRS continues to promote solidarity among communities in support of peace, safety, and national progress.

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐀𝐮𝐱𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐲 (𝐏𝐂𝐆𝐀) 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬?

On 09 February 1972, during an evening gathering at the Philippine Navy Officers’ Club celebrating Philippine Navy Day, a simple but powerful idea was announced:

💡To create a civilian volunteer group that would help the Philippine Coast Guard save lives and protect maritime communities.

The idea was instantly supported by those present and that night set in motion the creation of what we now know as the PCGA.

Fast forward 54 years later, the PCGA has grown into a nationwide volunteer force, officially recognized under Republic Act 9993 (PCG Law of 2009), and continues to stand side by side with the PCG in promoting safety of life and property at sea.

As of today, the PCGA is composed of more than 35,000 dedicated volunteers nationwide, all committed to serve.

A legacy built on service and unwavering dedication to safeguarding lives at sea.
