TWO SUSPECTS HELD FOR SELLING UNREGISTERED SLIMMING DRUG ONLINE

Two suspects were arrested on March 30, 2026 for illegally selling unregistered Tirzepatide products in a controlled operation conducted by the Quezon City Police District – Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU), in coordination with the Philippine Air Force–Armed Forces of the Philippines Directorate for Intelligence.

Authorities seized multiple vials of Tirzepatide, bacteriostatic water, packaging materials, labeling stickers, mobile phones, and marked money—evidence of deliberate commercial distribution.

A prior test-buy, certified by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), confirmed that the products being sold are not registered, making their sale illegal and potentially hazardous to consumers, particularly amid the growing demand for rapid weight management solutions.

Appropriate charges under Republic Act No. 9711, or the FDA Act of 2009, are being prepared for inquest proceedings.

Chief PNP, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., underscored the danger of such illegal trade, “Ang pagbebenta ng hindi rehistradong gamot ay malinaw na banta sa kalusugan ng publiko. We will continue to act swiftly and decisively to stop these illegal activities.”

The operation is part of the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s guidance to prioritize public safety.

The PNP reminds the public to avoid purchasing injectable or prescription products from unauthorized online sellers and to report suspicious activities.

"We call on everyone to stay alert and not risk their health by buying from illegal sources. With public cooperation, we can put an end to this unlawful trade," PGEN Nartatez added.

These efforts reflect the vision of a Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman, ensuring service is felt by every Filipino.

PNP, UNIFIED 911 NABS SUSPECT FOR ASSAULT, RESISTANCE TO OFFICER

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., swiftly arrested a 35-year-old male suspect in Cordon, Isabela, following a violent disturbance where he assaulted a police officer and resisted arrest. The prompt response was made possible through the Unified 911 system, a vital public safety service under the Department of the Interior and Local Government, led by Secretary Juanito Victor C. Remulla Jr., which ensured coordinated action to protect civilians and law enforcement personnel.

On March 29, 2026, at around 9:57 PM, Cordon Police Station personnel responded to Brgy. Sagat, Cordon, Isabela, after reports that a 35-year-old male suspect had engaged in a violent confrontation with his sibling and assaulted a 52-year-old male officer and bank employee.

Authorities learned that the suspect, in an apparent state of intoxication, had shouted provocations over a prior police report, which escalated into a physical altercation. When responding police officers and barangay officials moved to intervene, the suspect violently resisted, grappling with a police officer in the process. Despite his aggressive resistance, the suspect was eventually brought under custody at Cordon PS for proper investigation and disposition.

The incident underscores the PNP’s commitment to Enhanced Managing Police Operations, a key priority within the PNP Focused Agenda—a strategic plan aimed at making police service more disciplined, responsive, and protective of community welfare. The rapid and coordinated response prevented further escalation, ensuring the safety of both the public and personnel.

“Violence against our personnel will not be tolerated, and every call for help must be met with immediate action,” PGEN Nartatez stated. “Our officers are trained to act decisively, yet with restraint, to uphold the safety of our communities.” He also said, “Ang bawat pulis ay nakatuon sa pagtitiyak ng kapayapaan at seguridad sa bawat barangay.”

As the PNP strengthens its presence and responsiveness in communities, it continues to assure the public of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at nararamdaman.”
