This Christmas, we go back to the most basic way of blessing the 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 (𝗜𝗣) 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗿𝗴𝘆. 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 in Negros Occidental — by giving them 𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗘.
While it seems ironic that their land is known for sugarcane and rice, not all the IPs have a plot of land to grow their own rice. Most families eat root crops to get by. Rice is a luxury for the poorest of the poor.
With 𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗼 damaging their homes and crops and even some farm animals lost to the floods, many families never got the chance to recover. And in less than a month after this disaster, 𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗮 brought heavy rains as if adding insult to injury.
We are raising funds to provide 𝟲𝟴𝟵 𝗜𝗣 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 with at least 4kg of rice per family. These will be distributed thru our ground partner Chieftain Hildyn of the Brgy Riverside Association of Babaylanis Bukidnon (BRABB). We have been working closely with them for the past 3 years, since Typhoon Odette when so many became homeless overnight.
The Babaylanis Bukidnon tribe is the native group of lumads/IPs in Brgy. Riverside, Negros Occidental. This remote community of lumads is hardly reached by aid that is why we have been directing our efforts to raise awareness for them and to bless them whenever we can.
Will you help us reach our target of P156,800 to buy rice for the IPs? Together, we can Bless Riverside!
P.S. We hope we can exceed this target by at least P50,000 to add 2 cans of sardines and 2 packs of instant noodles with every bag of rice.
Please PM me for bank details. THANK YOU!
