Who would ever forget this Somali born American beauty? Perhaps the bravest hijabi of the recent decade who broke the stereotype and stigma towards covered women. She was the first Muslim hijabi to join Miss America representing the state of Minnesotta, and the first hijabi to walk the runway of giant fashion brands. She might not be in the fashion limelight nowadays but her name and her legacy remained and still continues to inspire covered women all over the world fight islamophobia by not cowering down and standing up proud with her identity.

Our first feature for Hijabi Style Icon is no other than the "it hijabi girl" Ar Hannahlie! She can effortlessly sport boyish cardigans and berets and grace the runway or photoshoots in abayas and girly gowns, this fearless Tausug girl who conquered the billboards recently as the only hijabi among the faces of Dove, and perhaps one of the first few hijabis who made it to the pages of the prestigious Vogue fashion magazine! She never shy away from her identity and wore her hijab with pride.
