KASARIANLAN The official student organization for people of diverse SOGIESC in PUP. 🌈 It all started in Metro Manila Pride March 2016. Mesa.

Jang, one of the organization's founders, was inspired because other schools have delegates and their own space in the march. He then asked himself how come there was no PUP organization in there, considering that we are the biggest state university in the country. He also noticed that College of Communication has a lot of LGBTQIA+ students in PUP Sta. He wondered, "Bakit wala pang LGBT+ org dito sa COC?"

Misha, Watson, and Mel were also in MM Pride. It was then that they realized: they had the same vision. When school started, they called on their other COCian friends to a small carinderia and there, Kasarianlan was born. Other than the dream to march side by side during next year's Pride March, Kasarianlan also wants to establish a safe space and a support system where fellow siblings in the community can live and celebrate their identities freely. The organization's name is derived from two words: Kasarian (gender) + Kasarinlan (freedom) = freedom from gender. To live beyond your gender and show the world that you are more than your label.

That was a POP! 💥🎈

Last September 29, the lagoon was buzzing with good energy, real conversations, and zero awkwardness. Huge shoutout to everyone who pulled up to make s*xual health education fun, safe, and loud!

Here’s a quick recap of the madness:
✨ D***x PH took over the lagoon and NALLRC with their mirror photobooth (your photo souvenirs looked amazing!), premium condom giveaways, and an insanely competitive condom-popping game.

✨ LoveYourself Inc, LoveYourself Caravan brought safe, confidential screening right to campus with free HIV, Syphilis, and Hepatitis B testing.

✨ Project UNIFY: Peer Educators Training brought the heat with interactive games, deep discussions, and incredible insights from our guest speakers: Joel Ibanez from Free To Be YOUTH and Dr. Deano Reyes, founder of Hara Clinic!

CALL FOR ASPIRING HIV AND AIDS PEER EDUCATORS

Ready to create safer, more informed communities? Project UNIFY is looking for passionate advocates ready to step up, break barriers, and lead conversations on s*xual health and human rights.

As a peer educator, you will gain essential knowledge on HIV and AIDS advocacy, understand community referral pathways, develop impactful campaigns, and connect with fellow youth leaders dedicated to inclusive, accessible health education.

Qualifications:
- Bonafide student of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines
- Aligned with core values of equality, human rights, inclusive education, non-violence, and safe spaces
- Committed to completing a one-day training on HIV, AIDS, and SRHR
- Available for the in-person training on September 29, 2026
