The Philippine-Japan Manning Consultative Council, Inc. (PJMCC), in collaboration with Homer Foundation, Inc. and Sailors’ Society, successfully conducted two pilot batches of the Advanced Crew Care: Mental Health Wellness & Psychological First Aid program on 15 and 16 April 2026.

The sessions brought together 25 and 23 seafarers on Day 1 and Day 2, respectively, representing 20 member companies. The pilot implementation also supports alignment with key industry standards, including compliance with RightShip inspection checklist requirements, while reinforcing competencies under Basic Training – Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (BT-PSSR).

Key insights gained from the pilot will guide the continuous enhancement of the program, ensuring that it remains relevant, practical, and responsive to the realities of the maritime environment.

PJMCC aims to expand this initiative across all member companies to further strengthen readiness, compliance, and management capability within the maritime sector.
