🇵🇭✨ A FIRST FOR FILIPINO INVENTORS!

Yes! For the first time, we, Filipino inventors, were recognized during the celebration of National Heroes Day through the Department of Science and Technology – Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI).

What a meaningful way to honor National Heroes Day.

Our heroes fought for our freedom. Today, Filipino inventors continue to serve the country in another way—through ideas, ingenuity, science, technology, and innovation.

Behind every invention is a Filipino who dared to ask, “Can we do this better?”
Someone who saw a problem and chose to create a solution.
Someone who continued despite challenges, limited resources, and countless moments of doubt.

To have inventors recognized on a day dedicated to honoring our heroes sends a powerful message:

Innovation is also an act of service to the nation.

And perhaps, this is the beginning of a new tradition where Filipino inventors are recognized not only for what we create, but for the impact our inventions can bring to our communities and to the world.

As an inventor and as President of the Filipino Women Inventors Society (FWIS), I am deeply grateful to DOST-TAPI for recognizing the people behind Filipino inventions.

Thank you for reminding us that the work of inventors matters.

We may not carry a sword.
We may not stand on a battlefield.

But we carry ideas.

And when those ideas are transformed into solutions that improve lives, create opportunities, protect our environment, and strengthen our nation—

that, too, is service to the Philippines. 🇵🇭

To all Filipino inventors: this moment is ours.

Let us continue to invent.
Let us continue to create.
Let us continue to make Tatak Pilipino known to the world.

Ngayong National Heroes Day, ating ginugunita at pinararangalan ang mga bayaning nag-alay ng kanilang buhay, tapang, talino, at sakripisyo para sa kalayaan at kinabukasan ng ating bansa.

Sa makabagong panahon, nagpapatuloy ang diwa ng kabayanihan sa bawat Pilipinong nagsisikap na maghatid ng solusyon, lumikha ng pagbabago, at gamitin ang agham, teknolohiya, at inobasyon para sa kapakanan ng sambayanan.

Sa DOST-TAPI, kinikilala at tinutulangan natin ang mga mananaliksik, imbentor, at innovator na patuloy na lumilikha ng mga teknolohiyang tumutugon sa mga hamon ng bayan at nagbubukas ng mas maraming oportunidad para sa mga Pilipino.

We have been doing our program "Kalinga at Kalusugan para sa Flood Victims for 3 years now. And our efforts are growing...as well as our partners.

In 2024, we distributed 100 packs
In 2025, we distributed 200 packs
And this year, we distributed 635 packs.

Our hearts filled with gratitude to all members and partners who extended support for our needy brothers and sisters.

We are very proud to be the only Inventors Group who has been very active in Outreach Programs.

To the Secretary Celia Ong and BOT Lorna Logramonte who did not only contribute but also physically present inspite the almost life- threatening bangka ride we had.

What a meaningful and emotional day for the Filipino Women Inventors Society (FWIS).

We are deeply grateful to our FWIS officers and members who gave their time, resources, and hearts to make this relief operation possible. Your willingness to serve reminds us that when women come together with compassion and purpose, we can create a meaningful impact in our communities.

IPOPHIL Forum on "Leveraging Intellectual Property as an Innovation Enabler and Fuel for Inclusive Economic Growth," happening on Monday, 03 August 2026, at Sheraton Hotel Manila, Newport World Resorts World, Pasay City.
successfully convened the forum bringing together experts from government, industry, academia, and international organizations to exchange insights on the evolving role of intellectual property (IP) in driving innovation, creativity, and sustainable economic development.
The forum featured timely discussions on women's participation in innovation and enterprise, the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence in the IP landscape, and the future of broadcasting in an increasingly digital and platform-driven world. Through meaningful dialogue and knowledge-sharing, participants explored how IP can empower creators, innovators, entrepreneurs, and communities while addressing emerging trends and challenges.
As the Office continues to strengthen initiatives on IP commercialization and its linkages to financing, IPOPHL remains committed to accompanying Filipino creators and innovators in transforming their ideas into real-world solutions that create value, generate opportunities, and benefit society as a whole.

💜✨ ADVOCACY IN ACTION: BUILDING A MASAGANANG PILIPINAS THROUGH INNOVATION ✨💜

For over three decades, **Dr. Ria Liza Canlas** has dedicated her life to education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and community development. As a scientist, engineer, inventor, educator, entrepreneur, mother, and community leader, she believes that every Filipino possesses the potential to create meaningful change.

This belief gave rise to **Imbento Masagana**, a movement that promotes innovation-driven livelihood and nation-building through the **Purple Mindset**—a philosophy that empowers individuals to discover their strengths, unlock opportunities, and contribute to the common good.

A key component of this advocacy is the **Feminine Genius Planner**, which documents Dr. Ria's technopreneurship journey and introduces the **Transform and Engage Process (TEP)**—a framework designed to help individuals transform their potential into purposeful action and community impact.

To bring innovation closer to the grassroots, she developed two flagship programs under Imbento Masagana:
