THE WORD RIDERS BIBLE BIBLE MINISTRY
The Team Word Riders is a group of big bike/motorcycle enthusiasts with a heart to support the vision of the Philippine Bible Society to place a bible in every Filipino home. With their slogan, “riding to help place a Bible in every Filipino home”, they plan to give gifts of a complete bible to Grade 8 public high school students from poor families accompanie
d by a pamphlet that will help the students get started to developing a habit of reading their bible. The Team holds several bible road-trips a year to reach out to Grade 8 high school students of public schools in the rural, remote and/or “poorest of the poor” communities of the country and distribute free bibles. In essence, the project seeks to support the goal of placing a bible in every Filipino home, especially those located in the “poorest of the poor” communities, and encourage bible-reading as foundation for an honest, just and God-loving country. The Team has visited a total of 10 public high schools in the provinces of Bulacan, Bataan and Nueva Ecija and has distributed a total of 5,000 bibles to date. Their main beneficiaries are Grade 8 public high school students from “poorest of the poor” families and remote communities. The Team has the following purposes:
1) To promote the Philippine Bible Society and its
programs across the many islands of the
Philippines, particularly the MTBO Bible
Project which seeks to place a bible in every
Filipino home and encourage Filipinos to read
and live the bible for national transformation
2) To provide and place bibles in the hands of the
young people of the country, particularly those
from poor families and rural/remote
communities who cannot afford to buy bibles,
and help build a God-loving, honest, just and
peaceful country. To join the regular Team bible rides, each rider will provide his or her own bike, safety gear, equipment, fuel, oil and other related accessories for the bikes for the entire period of the tour. Additional Logistics such as rentals, fuel, oil for backup vehicles, accommodations, equipment, food, documentation, tents and others equipment and supplies will be supported from the tour common fund that will be raised from donors and sponsors. A mandatory training program for bible appreciation and bible sharing for the riders and other support volunteers will be provided by PBS.
