Today, we celebrate freedom—but not without remembering the price it demanded.

Long before we could raise our flag with pride, there were voices silenced, dreams cut short, and lives willingly laid down for a nation they believed in but never fully lived to see.

We walk freely today because they chose to stand when it was easier to kneel.
We speak boldly today because they fought when fear was louder than hope.

As the sun rises over our beloved Philippines, may we not just remember their sacrifice—but live in a way that honors it.

Let’s clear it up:

✅ "Baby, I’m craving milk tea today."
❌ "Baby, I’m craving for milk tea today."

In standard usage, “craving” already expresses the desire, so adding “for” is unnecessary.

The PUP MAELT Society proudly congratulates Dr. Ferdinand Bulusan on the publication of his article, “A Critical Hermeneutic Phenomenology of the Fears of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as Experienced by Retiring University English Language Teaching (ELT) Professors” in the Springer journal Discover Artificial Intelligence.

What once began as a sample topic shared during a qualitative research training at Pangasinan State University has now become a published study contributing to the growing discourse on the human side of artificial intelligence, particularly within English Language Teaching (ELT) in Philippine state universities.

This achievement reminds us that ideas shared in academic spaces, no matter how spontaneous, have the power to grow into research that informs, challenges, and inspires.

“Quiet” and “Quite” may sound the same, but they definitely don’t mean the same thing!

✅ Quiet = silent
✅ Quite = very

Example: “The Senate hearing became quite quiet when Bato started whining.” 🤫

Here’s today’s linguistic reality check:
✔️ “Fill out” = complete a form or document
✔️ “Fill up” = make something full

So, unless you’re pouring water on your test paper… maybe it’s time to fill OUT that form. 😭📄
