Looking back at a monumental milestone from earlier this March! 🇵🇭🇯🇵

Throwback to when the incredible youth volunteers of LOOB Inc. and Student NGO ALPHA came together for the 10-day work camp at Bontoc Integrated School, constructing our 7th joint classroom facility there—marking 24 total classrooms built across the municipality!

Heartfelt gratitude goes out to Student NGO ALPHA, the dedicated local and international campers, and every community participant - teachers, parents, students and neighbors... who poured their sweat and passion into making this possible. True collaboration knows no borders.

As the town gears up for the upcoming Lambunao Education Summit on June 3, grassroots efforts like these highlight exactly how strong, youth-led stakeholder partnerships can actively drive and elevate the community’s education and literacy goals.

Filipino volunteers from Love Our Brethren (LOOB) Inc. and Japanese volunteers from Student NGO ALPHA arrived March 2, 2026, for a work camp in Barangay Bontoc,

Out of 19 incredible entries from 6 different schools, one visionary team truly stole the spotlight this spring. Huge congratulations to 𝓢𝓮𝓲𝓫𝓸 𝓖𝓪𝓴𝓾𝓮𝓷 𝓗𝓲𝓰𝓱 𝓢𝓬𝓱𝓸𝓸𝓵 for winning the SDG Ideathon with their project, "𝓗𝓮𝓪𝓵𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓗𝓪𝓷𝓭𝓼 𝓟𝓻𝓸𝓳𝓮𝓬𝓽"! 🩹✨ This beautiful initiative focuses on giving immediate care and first-aid support to waste recyclers and households in sanitary landfills.

At the SDG Ideathon, we firmly believe that small, grassroots ideas hold the power to create lasting change. We are so inspired by all the talented youth who stepped up to pitch their creative solutions for our communities!💪

To bring this amazing vision to life, NGO LOOB will officially adopt and implement the winning proposal. 🚀 Stay tuned to see their project in action!

What does it mean to learn beyond the classroom? Just ask our Spring Interns, Suzu and Katsu! 📚➡️🌴

Suzune’s analytical approach and vibrant personality, and Katsuhide’s natural talent for cultural connection, sparked so many beautiful conversations with our youth members. They traded the comfort of home for the vibrant streets of the Philippines, proving that the best lessons truly happen "beyond the classroom". 💡💓

They came to discover the Philippines, but they ended up discovering so much about themselves in the process. We are so proud of the growth they showed! 💡🌟 We hope to see you soon!

NGO LOOB is truly grateful to have been invited as one of the partners of Pag-UliKID by ISAT-U BSTM for a meaningful outreach activity to do the "Story and Fun" portion of the program with the children of Barangay Igtuble, Tubungan, Iloilo, last April 25.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Seeing the smiles, laughter, and joy of the children reaffirms our commitment to serving marginalized communities and creating spaces where learning and happiness go hand in hand.

Thank you, ISAT-U, for trusting and welcoming us. We are honored to share this experience with you, and we look forward to more collaborations that create lasting impact. 💙✨

“The bond and friendship that were made will always be in our hearts”
And it finally wrapped with big smiles and a happy heart…
Spring Season ended with a lot of laughter and memorable moments. As we welcomed 20 more Japanese Students, 4 Japanese Teachers and 7 Filipino Youths during our March Face to Face Global Youth Leaders Program. 💐🌹
🌱Iwate University
🌱Seibo Gakuin Junior High School & High School
🌱KSKK SDGs Leaders and Homestay

Our Youths learned new discoveries as some of them visited new places such as community Health Centers in Barangay Guzman and Mandurriao District and experienced Homestay in our partnered community at Barangay Navais, Mandurriao.

It was amazing how these youths were so connected with each other’s culture and seeing their determination to learn something new every day.

We are excited to see what comes next in the future...

"Continuing with more excitment and discoveries"

February 2026 was indeed memorable for many because we again started our Face to Face Global Youth Leaders Program Spring season🌸🌷

NGO LOOB welcomed amazing 55 Japanese students and 6 teachers from different High Schools and Universities in Japan here in Iloilo City, Philippines.
🌱Kanto Gakuin University
🌱Meiji Gakuin University
🌱Toyo University
🌱Kobe Shoin Junior High School

Everyday was full of fun filled activities and learnings, together with Filipino volunteers from Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U), as they each discover their strenghts, skills and developed their roles as future global youth leaders.

From cultural exchanges, SDG workshops, community activities and city tours to insightful discussions and many memorable moments shared with friends everyday. The connection between Japanese and Filipinos is very strong and we continue to deepened that bond in learning from each other.
