The University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue – Community Awareness, Relations and Extension Services (UCLM CARES) successfully conducted the Student Officers and Volunteers Capacity Building, aimed at empowering student leaders and volunteers through meaningful learning experiences, leadership development, teamwork, and community engagement.
The activity commenced with an overview of UCLM CARES and its programs, presented by Dr. Richie L. Montebon, CARES Director, highlighting the important role of student officers and volunteers in advancing the University’s commitment to community awareness, relations, and extension services.
The participants also gained valuable insights from our dedicated CARES Coordinators:

✨ Mr. Mark Boize Cantillep, College of Criminology CARES Coordinator, shared his expertise on Effective Communication, Teamwork, and Conflict Management, equipping the participants with essential skills for working collaboratively and effectively.
✨ Ms. Rhania Pinili, Ms. Carine Batucan, and Mr. Ian Empedrado, CTE CARES Coordinators, facilitated an engaging Leadership Activity and generously shared their best practices and experiences, inspiring the student officers and volunteers to become proactive, responsible, and compassionate leaders.
This capacity-building activity serves as a meaningful opportunity to strengthen the competencies, commitment, and sense of social responsibility of our student leaders and volunteers as they continue to serve as partners of UCLM CARES in making a positive impact in the community.
