Mandaue City has been recognized as the safest among Cebuβs tri-cities, according to the 2026 report of the World Travel Index (WTI), reinforcing its reputation as a secure and traveler-friendly urban hub.
In the βSafest Cities to Visit in 2026 β Philippinesβ ranking, Mandaue City placed 14th nationwide with a score of 67.85% βoutperforming neighboring Lapu-Lapu City (17th, 62.45%) and Cebu City (26th, 53.15%).
This makes Mandaue the top-ranked city among the tri-cities in terms of safety.
This achievement comes under the leadership of Jonkie Ouano, whose administration has prioritized peace, order, and public safety as key pillars of governance.
The recognition also reflects the relentless dedication and hard work of the Mandaue City Police Office and its personnel, whose efforts continue to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
According to WTI, cities with higher rankings and scores offer better safety conditions, making them more attractive to both local and international travelers.
The rankings are based on key factors such as crime rates, public security, infrastructure, and overall visitor experience.
As of April 2026, this recognition affirms Mandaue Cityβs position not only as a center of commerce and industry but also as a model for urban safety in the Philippines.
