On June 13, 2026, members of the PeriOperative Registered Nurses Association of the Philippines, Inc. (ORNAP) Cebu Chapter embarked on a meaningful journey to the mountains of Butong, Ronda, Cebu for our Annual Tree Planting Activity.

Gathering as early as 4:00 AM at Maternity Hospital, we traveled south carrying fruit-bearing seedlings generously provided by the Department of Agriculture.

Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the local community and graciously hosted by our Founding President, Dr. Alma Ungab, who prepared a hearty breakfast before the day's activity began.

At 9:00 AM, members spread across the area to dig, water, and plant seedlings. Despite the intense heat of the sun, our commitment never wavered. Each seedling planted symbolized hope for a greener future, helping improve air quality, enrich the environment, and provide food and shelter for generations to come.

By 2:00 PM, we successfully planted all the seedlings. As we looked across the land, we envisioned a future filled with thriving trees and abundant greenery—a lasting legacy of our collective effort and environmental responsibility.

ORNAP Cebu Chapter proudly advocates for clean and green initiatives, recognizing that a healthier environment leads to healthier communities. Together, we planted not only trees, but also hope, sustainability, and a brighter future for all.

Finally, we have successfully completed all of our scheduled Operation Tuli 2026 activities. What a remarkable journey it has been!

This achievement was made possible through the collective efforts, contributions, and unwavering dedication of every member of our team, united by one admirable goal: to serve our communities with compassion, provide safe and quality care, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children and families we serve.

From the safekeeping of supplies, meticulous preparation and packing, sterilization of instruments, collaboration with respected Doctors, Government and Private sectors key officials, and the delivery of safe and quality perioperative care, every task played a vital role in making this mission a success. Through teamwork, commitment, and God's guidance, we were able to accomplish every scheduled activity with excellence.

Each of us serves as a leader in our respective institutions, carrying demanding responsibilities both at work and beyond. Yet despite our busy schedules, every member of the amazing ORNAP Cebu Chapter generously gave their time, energy, and expertise whenever possible. That selfless dedication is what made this meaningful accomplishment possible.

A well-deserved congratulations to all of us! 🥰 We are thankful of what we have achieved together and of the lives we have touched along the way.

Day 9 - Operation Tuli

"The Final Day, The Lasting Impact"

Barangay Alang-Alang, Mandaue City, Cebu | May 30, 2026

May 30, 2026 marked the successful culmination of the 9-Day ORNAP Cebu Chapter Operation Tuli 2026. In partnership with Barangay Captain Jesse James L. Go, the Barangay Officials, and Health Workers of Barangay Alang-Alang, careful planning and coordination were undertaken to ensure that at least 100 young boys could benefit from this meaningful health initiative.

As early as 7:00 AM, members of ORNAP Cebu Chapter, together with Nursing Student Volunteers from Cebu Doctors’ University, gathered at the operation site. Joining the mission were Dr. Hadeel Ungab, Dr. Ryan Mascariñas, and the team of Post-Graduate Interns: Dr. Mari Tonette J. Castañares, Dr. Francis James B. Flores, Dr. Charlemagne B. Baguio, and Dr. Sittie Alaicah U. Ambor. Through teamwork and dedication, the venue, sterile instruments, and post-procedure care areas were efficiently prepared to ensure safe and quality care for every child.

As the children arrived, they were warmly welcomed and assisted by the Barangay Health Workers. Despite the heat of the day, the atmosphere remained cheerful as ice cream, refreshments, snacks, and lunch were generously provided for the children, parents, and volunteers. Free post-circumcision medications were also distributed to support proper healing and recovery.

As the final day came to a close, it became evident that Operation Tuli is more than a medical mission—it is a reflection of compassion, unity, and service. Through the collective efforts of healthcare professionals, students, and community partners, countless young lives were touched and empowered.

ORNAP Cebu Chapter remains steadfast in its commitment to serving communities, promoting safe and quality healthcare practices, and educating future generations on proper hygiene and wellness.

For as long as there are communities in need, we will continue to serve with compassion, excellence, and heart.

DAY 8 - Operation Tuli

"United in Service: ORNAP Cebu Chapter DAY 8 Operation Tuli"

The periOperative Registered Nurses Association of the Philippines, Inc. (ORNAP) Cebu Chapter successfully concluded DAY 8 of our Operation Tuli Mission held at Brgy. Poblacion, Talisay City, Cebu last May 23, 2026.

Earlier this year, ORNAP Cebu Chapter received an invitation from the Office of the Vice Mayor of Talisay City, Richard Francis F. Aznar, to collaborate in a four-day Operation Tuli outreach across selected barangays in Talisay City. Guided by our commitment to community service and health promotion, we wholeheartedly accepted this meaningful mission.

As early as 6:00 AM, the officers and advisors of ORNAP Cebu Chapter gathered with complete sterile packs, instruments, medications, and supplies, ready to serve. Through the generous transportation support from the Office of the Vice Mayor, we safely arrived at Brgy. Poblacion Basketball Gymnasium where we were warmly welcomed by the barangay health workers who assisted in the preparations.

The mission became even more memorable with the support of nursing student volunteers from Cebu Doctors' University and University of Cebu South Campus, whose dedication and teamwork helped make the day lighter and more fulfilling. Adding joy to the event, a local vlogger entertained the children and families, helping ease fears and creating smiles throughout the venue.

In partnership with the Fraternal Order of Eagles – Philippine Eagles, Inc., school supplies were also distributed to the children in preparation for the upcoming school year.

Several doctors also arrived and generously volunteered their service for the Operation Tuli mission. Among them were returning volunteer doctors from our previous Tuli services, including Mavic Javellana, Francis James Flores, and Charlemagne Baguio. Their dedication and continued support greatly contributed to the success of this outreach activity.

By the end of the day, we successfully served 141 children. More than the numbers, it was the heartfelt gratitude and smiles from the children and their families that truly inspired us.

ORNAP Cebu Chapter remains committed to its mission of serving communities with compassion while promoting health and upholding quality and safe nursing practice.

Day 7 Operation Tuli

"Hearts in Service: ORNAP Cebu Chapter DAY 7 Operation Tuli at Brgy. Pooc, Talisay City"

Last May 16, 2026 (Saturday),
The periOperative Registered Nurses Association of the Philippines, Inc. (ORNAP) Cebu Chapter successfully conducted its DAY 7 Operation Tuli at Brgy. Pooc Elementary School, Talisay City, Cebu, serving a total of 112 children through a mission rooted in compassion, teamwork, and community service.

As early as 7AM, ORNAP Cebu members together with nursing students from Cebu Doctors University and University of Cebu South Campus arrived at the venue, ready to serve. Through the support and collaboration of Talisay City Vice Mayor Hon. Richard Francis F. Aznar, transportation and assistance were provided to make this meaningful outreach possible.

The team immediately prepared sterile fields and surgical instruments, ensuring quality and safe perioperative care for every child. The operation was led by Dr. Mavic Javellana, Dr. Ryan Mascariñas, Resident Doctors Dr. Francis James Flores, and Dr. Charlemagne Baguio together with their medical team.

The day began with a solemn opening prayer led by ORNAP Cebu Past President Nonita Gillado, followed by the smooth conduct of the procedures one child at a time. Despite the hot weather and long hours, the team remained committed until the last child was served. Free medications, nourishing meals, lugaw, and ice cream brought comfort and smiles to both the children and their families.

At the end of the day, the gratitude and joyful smiles from the community reminded everyone that true nursing goes beyond the operating table — it is about serving with compassion, dedication, and heart.

DAY 6 - Operation Tuli

Compassion in Action: ORNAP Cebu Chapter Brings Hope Through Operation Tuli in San Isidro

The periOperative Registered Nurses Association of the Philippines, Inc. (ORNAP) Cebu Chapter successfully conducted its Day 6 Operation Tuli on May 9, 2026, at San Isidro Elementary School, Talisay City, Cebu.

Through the initiative and support of Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas Jr. and Vice-Mayor Richard Francis “Choy” Aznar, this second Operation Tuli mission in Talisay City became possible, serving the children of Barangay San Isidro.

Nearly 200 pre-registered children were screened and prepared days before the activity through the dedicated efforts of the Mayor’s and Vice Mayor’s offices. Early in the morning, the ORNAP Cebu Chapter team arrived safely at the venue through transportation provided for the volunteers and healthcare workers.

We were warmly welcomed by Barangay healthcare workers, school facilitators, and the teams from the Mayor’s and Vice Mayor’s offices as we prepared our sterilized instruments and surgical stations. Maintaining strict sterility and providing safe, quality care remained our top priority throughout the mission.

Together with our volunteer doctors — Dr. Jan Fernandez, Dr. Winihilma Sedenatario, Dr. Simon Clyde D. Caputol, and Dr. Hadeel Ungab — along with student nurses from Cebu Doctors’ University and the VSMMC Employees Association, the entire activity became a meaningful success through teamwork and compassion.

Despite the intense heat and humid weather, everyone remained inspired and committed to serving the children and promoting proper hygiene and wellness. Nutritious meals, refreshments, lugaw, and ice cream brought smiles to the children and their families while waiting patiently for their turn.

By the end of the day, 111 children successfully underwent circumcision. The smiles and heartfelt gratitude from the children and their parents became the greatest reward for all volunteers and healthcare workers present.

ORNAP Cebu Chapter will continue reaching communities through compassionate service, teamwork, and volunteerism — serving with one heart, one mission, and one purpose.

“ORNAP Cebu in Action: Advancing Safe Surgical Care Across the Provinces”

ORNAP Cebu Chapter 4-Day Surgical Mission
April 30 – May 3, 2026 | Isidro Kintanar Memorial Hospital, Argao, Cebu

The periOperative Registered Nurses Association of the Philippines, Inc. (ORNAP) Cebu Chapter, in collaboration with the Cebu Government Office and various medical and institutional partners, successfully conducted a 4-day Surgical Mission held at Isidro Kintanar Memorial Hospital in Argao, Cebu from April 30 to May 3, 2026.

While half of our ORNAP Cebu Chapter Officers and Advisors stayed in Cebu City to facilitate our May 2 and 3, 2026 Operation Tuli, the other half of our ORNAP Cebu Chapter Team together with our partners from Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, Kaambag Clinic, Malasakit at Bayanihan Partylist led by Congresswoman Girlie Veloso and Dr. Shane Veloso, Cebu Medical Society, Philippine Dental Association led by Dr. Janette Erasmo, Southwestern Clinicians led by Dr. Gab Albina, and IPI Pharmaceuticals, we were able to provide FREE surgical services to patients suffering from gallstones, hernia, hemorrhoids, goiter, breast conditions, myoma, cyst excision, cataract, and pterygium.

As early as 5:00 AM on April 30, 2026, the ORNAP Cebu Chapter team together with the Cebu Provincial Hospital–Carcar City Team gathered and traveled to Argao through the generosity of Dr. Stanley Caminero, who provided the official coaster and van for transportation. Upon arrival, the team immediately prepared the operating rooms, sterile instruments, medications, medical equipment, and all necessary supplies and documentation needed for the mission.

At exactly 8:00 AM, surgeries officially began and continued tirelessly for four consecutive days. Despite the long hours and demanding workload, every healthcare worker remained committed to ensuring strict sterility, patient safety, and quality perioperative care throughout all procedures.

The team from Argao District Hospital warmly accommodated and cared for all volunteers by providing meals, refreshments, and comfortable resting areas during the entire mission. We were also honored by the presence of Cebu Provincial Governor Pamela Baricuatro, whose visit and support further inspired the team to continue serving with compassion and dedication.

Through teamwork, sacrifice, and collaboration, the mission successfully completed:
• 57 Minor Surgeries
• 51 Major Surgeries
• 54 Eye Surgeries
•
Although the days were physically exhausting, the smiles, gratitude, and heartfelt appreciation from the patients became the greatest reward for every healthcare worker involved. Seeing lives changed and patients given another chance toward better health reminded us all of the true purpose of nursing and public service.

ORNAP Cebu Chapter remains steadfast in its mission to serve communities through safe, compassionate, and excellent perioperative nursing care. As we continue to grow as nurses and leaders, may we always carry hearts dedicated to healing, hands committed to service, and a vision focused on bringing hope, patient safety, and quality healthcare to every Filipino community we reach.

“Day 5 Operation Tuli: Compassion in Action at Capitol Parish”

Following Day 4 of our Operation Tuli just yesterday,
Day 5 of our Operation Tuli consecutively followed, held today, May 3, 2026, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish, stands as another powerful testament to compassion, unity, and service in action for the periOperative Registered Nurses Association of the Philippines, Inc. (ORNAP) Cebu Chapter.

As early as 6:00 AM, the day began with purpose. The quiet anticipation of the morning carried with it a shared mission—one that continues to fuel our hearts and strengthen our commitment. Preparing for our fifth Operation Tuli was not just routine; it was a calling. With nearly 100 young boys registered weeks in advance, we knew that this day would once again be filled with opportunities to serve and uplift.

At the venue, the ORNAP Cebu Chapter officers and advisors gathered with unwavering dedication, joined by the ever-enthusiastic volunteer nursing students from Cebu Doctors Hospital. Together, we transformed the parish grounds into a safe, organized, and sterile environment fit for delivering quality care. Every sterile pack opened, every instrument prepared, and every corner arranged reflected our discipline and adherence to the highest standards of perioperative practice.

Moments later, our trusted and compassionate doctors—Dr. Eunice Capanas, Dr. Ryan Mascariñas, and Dr. Hadeel Ungab—arrived, bringing with them not only their expertise but also their hearts for service. They were joined by a dedicated team of resident doctors from University of Cebu Medical Center, all united by a singular purpose: to deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate circumcision services to every child entrusted to our care.

One by one, the young boys were welcomed, reassured, and cared for. Through steady hands and kind words, approximately 100 children successfully underwent the procedure. Beyond the operation itself, each child was provided with free post-tuli medications, including antibiotics and pain relievers—ensuring not just immediate care, but continued healing and recovery.

As the day drew to a close, what remained was not exhaustion, but fulfillment. A deep, quiet pride settled among us—a shared understanding that what we had accomplished went beyond numbers. We had touched lives, eased fears, and made a difference in our community.

This is the spirit of ORNAP Cebu Chapter.
We stand firm at the forefront, continuously collaborating with our healthcare partners, doctors, barangay health workers, and steadfast supporters. Together, we carry forward a mission rooted in service, safety, and excellence.
