Last saturday the Bantayan Sa Hari Cebu Elite Eagles Club was turn over the rope for payaw and short discussed regarding the crown of thorn's starfish by Sanjay from UP Cebu Marine Biology.

The Bantayan sa Hari Cebu Elite Eagles Club, together with dedicated diving volunteers and Sanjay, Marine Biology student from the University of the Philippines, successfully conducted our initial Crown of Thorns (COT) removal dive.

Within 40 minutes of dive time, to carefully remove the specimens instead. These will serve as samples for further study and monitoring, helping us better understand and protect our coral reef ecosystem.

This operation reflects the power of teamwork, science, and service, united by one mission: protecting the beauty beneath our waters.

The Bantayan sa Hari Cebu Elite Eagles Club successfully conducted a short General Membership Meeting (GMM) together with our fellow brothers and partners after meeting with the fisherfolks of Barangay Gawi, Oslob, Cebu.

We also had an insightful discussion with Sanjay, a Marine Biology student from the University of the Philippines, who shared valuable knowledge on how we can help control the population of Crown of Thorns starfish and strengthen our preparations for the next day’s Crown of Thorns Removal Activity.

This collaboration highlights our shared commitment to protecting marine ecosystems through education, teamwork, and service. Together, we continue to learn, plan, and act for the preservation of our reefs and coastal communities.

The Bantayan sa Hari Cebu Elite Eagles Club, successfully conducted the deployment of fish aggregating materials (fishing ropes) in support of the Payaw Project for the fishing community of Barangay Gawi, Oslob, Cebu.

The activity was held at Marcnel Bayside Food House, bringing together club members and local fisherfolk beneficiaries in a collaborative effort aimed at promoting sustainable fishing practices and supporting coastal livelihoods.

This initiative forms part of the club’s continuing commitment to community development, environmental stewardship, and socio-civic service. The deployment of fishing ropes for payaw installation is expected to enhance fish aggregation, improve fishing efficiency, and contribute to the economic sustainability of local fishermen.

The Bantayan sa Hari Cebu Elite Eagles Club remains dedicated to strengthening partnerships with communities through meaningful outreach programs aligned with the organization’s guiding principle of Service Through Strong Brotherhood.
