📢 HEALTH ADVISORY: PROTECT YOURSELF AGAINST LEPTOSPIROSIS 🌧️🖱️

​With the rainy season and flooding, the risk of Leptospirosis is high. Leptospirosis is a bacterial infection caused by exposure to water or soil contaminated with the urine of infected animals, particularly rats.
​It can enter the body through open wounds, cuts, scratches, or even through the eyes, nose, and mouth.

​⚠️ Common Symptoms:
​🌡️ High fever and chills
​💆‍♂️ Severe headache and muscle aches (especially in the calves)
​👁️ Redness in the eyes
​🤢 Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
​🥱 Extreme fatigue and weakness
​(In severe cases, it can cause jaundice, liver failure, or kidney damage.)

​🛡️ Prevention & Control Tips:
​Avoid Wading: Avoid walking or swimming in floodwaters. If unavoidable, wear protective gear like rubber boots and gloves.

​Wash Immediately: Wash thoroughly with soap and clean water after any contact with floodwater or soil.

​Cover Wounds: Clean and cover open cuts or scratches with waterproof bandages.

​Maintain Hygiene: Keep your surroundings clean, properly dispose of garbage, and control rodent infestations at home.

🚨 HEALTH & SAFETY ADVISORY: PROTECTING YOURSELF FROM VOLCANIC ASHFALL 🚨

In light of the recent moderately explosive eruption of Mt. Kanlaon today, July 9, 2026, ashfall has been reported in parts of Negros and neighboring areas, reaching as far as Cebu.

Your health and safety are our top priorities at AMOSUP. Volcanic ash consists of fine particles that can irritate the respiratory system, eyes, and skin, especially for children, the elderly, and individuals with pre-existing conditions like asthma or COPD.

Here are essential health tips to keep you and your family safe:

🏠 Stay Indoors: Minimize outdoor exposure. Keep doors and windows closed to prevent ash from entering your home.

😷 Mask Up: If you must go outside, wear an N95 mask or a damp cloth over your nose and mouth to filter out fine particles.

👀 Protect Your Eyes: Wear protective goggles instead of contact lenses to avoid corneal scratches from abrasive ash.

🚗 Drive with Caution: Volcanic ash drastically reduces visibility and can make roads slippery. Avoid driving unless absolutely necessary.

💧 Safe Food and Water: Ensure your drinking water and food storage are tightly sealed and free from ash contamination. Wash any fruits or vegetables thoroughly before consuming.
