Ang Basic Education Department (Preschool, Grade School at Junior High School) ay nakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa na may temang "Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon."

Kinikilala ng tema ng Buwan ng Wika 2026 ang magkaugnay na papel ng wikang Filipino at artificial intelligence (Al) para sa makabansang gawain ng pananaliksik. Panawagan ito para sa responsableng paggamit ng Al habang tinitiyak na may makabuluhang espasyo ang Wikang Pambansa sa mga usaping may kinalaman sa mga umuusbong na teknolohiya at kaugnay na usaping pang-etika rito.

Ang Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa ay idinaraos tuwing Buwan ng Agosto alinsunod sa Proklamasyon Blg. 1041 na nilagdaan noong 1997.

Ang wikang Filipino ay hindi lamang paraan ng pakikipag-usapโ€”ito rin ay salamin ng ating kultura, pagkakakilanlan, at kasaysayan bilang mga Pilipino. Sa bawat salitang ating binibigkas, naipapakita natin ang ating pagpapahalaga sa ating mga tradisyon at pagmamahal sa ating bayan. โœจ

Sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika, sama-sama nating gamitin, pahalagahan, at ipagmalaki ang ating sariling wika. Sa pamamagitan nito, napapanatili nating buhay ang ating mayamang pamana, napauunlad ang ating pambansang identidad, at naipapasa sa susunod na henerasyon ang diwa ng pagiging tunay na Pilipino. Patuloy nating itaguyod ang wikang Filipino bilang simbolo ng ating pagkakaisa, pagmamalaki sa ating lahi, at pagmamahal sa ating bansa. ๐Ÿค—

ANNOUNCEMENT: UC shifts Basic Education classes online; college classes, work continue

In light of the recent eruption of Mount Kanlaon, classes remain suspended today for everyone's safety. The University of Cebu announced that Basic Education classes will shift to online modalities (synchronous and/or asynchronous) on July 10, 2026. Meanwhile, college classes will continue as scheduled, and all university offices will remain open.

To stay protected, please remember the following:
-Wear a well-fitting face mask whenever you need to go outside.
-Keep doors and windows closed as much as possible to prevent ash from entering your home.
-Stay updated through official advisories from local authorities and disaster response agencies.
-Watch for health symptoms, seek medical attention if you experience difficulty in breathing.
