Kita-kita po tayo ng Hunyo 7, 7:00 AM, sa UP Diliman Sunken Garden, para makipagkwentuhan sa mga bumibisita nating mangingisda!

Ipagdiwang natin ang World Oceans Day kasama ng mga Pilipinong nangangalaga at inaalagaan ng dagat. Pasalamatan din natin sila sa pagdala ng pagkain sa mga hapag natin.

Bago dumalo:
✅ Magdala ng tumbler para sa magamit sa water re-filling stations, at iwasan natin ang paggamit ng plastik.
✅ Sumbrero o payong + sunblock — laban sa init o ulan.
✅ Magsuot ng presko, komportableng damit at sapatos (maputik ang Sunken Garden ngayong tag-ulan).

Open po ito sa lahat! Isama ang mga pamilya at kaibigan!

Observed every June 5, World Environment Day serves as a global reminder that protecting nature is essential to securing a sustainable future. As communities around the world unite under the call for climate action, it is also an opportunity to champion local solutions that strengthen resilience, protect biodiversity, and safeguard the ecosystems we depend on.

In the Philippines, mangroves stand at the frontline of climate action. These remarkable coastal forests protect communities from storm surges, mitigate global warming, support fisheries, and provide habitat for countless organisms. Yet despite their immense value, many mangrove ecosystems remain threatened by unsustainable development and climate change itself.

One concrete way we can help is by advocating for the passage of the National Coastal Greenbelt Act; a crucial step toward securing the future of our coastal ecosystems and the life they sustain.

Happy World Environment Day 🌏

But we believe everyday should be environment day. It may sound idealistic but hear us out.

We've gotten used to treating the environment like an annual appointment. A day to plant a mangrove seedling, share a post about seagrass, maybe bring a reusable cup to the coffee shop. Then tomorrow, we go back to business as usual.

But the planet doesn't take a break. And neither can we.

As Jane Goodall says, we have to decide on what difference we want to make. This isn't a momentary wisdom, but a daily compass.

Because caring for the environment takes choosing empathy over convenience—every single day.

So this World Environment Day, let's treat tomorrow like it matters too. And the day after that. And the day after that.

Not because it's a holiday. But because it's home.
