Today, the Lasallian Institute For the Environment (DLSP-LIFE) joined advocates, students, and policymakers at the FEU Auditorium for a crucial forum on environmental governance organized by the FEU Public Policy Center, titled "Green Means Go: The Role and Potential of Participatory Environmental Auditing".

โ€‹The discussion tackled a vital question: why do persistent gaps remain in local environmental protection despite the Philippines' strong environmental laws? Experts, including former COA Commissioner Ms. Heidi Mendoza, explored how Participatory Environmental Auditing can empower communities and improve public accountability.

This directly resonates with LIFE's push for evidence-based ecological stewardship. By understanding the real-world incentives and constraints facing local governments, we can ensure that environmental mandates translate into genuine, sustainable outcomes on the ground.

โ™ป๏ธ MAKING EVERY DEVICE COUNT THIS INTERNATIONAL E-WASTE DAY ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’š

This International E-Waste Day, October 14, we take another step toward responsible electronic waste management with the deployment and turnover of Electronic Waste Bins (EW-Bin) across all Benilde campuses!

Through this initiative, we encourage the Benildean community to dispose of their electronic waste responsibly, helping prevent hazardous materials from harming the environment while promoting the recovery and recycling of valuable resources. Our EW-Bins serve as designated collection points for discarded electronic devices and equipment, in partnership with our e-waste management partner, Envirocycle.

We are grateful to our campus representatives and academic leaders for supporting this initiative:

โ€‹October 2, 2026 | LIFE joined the vibrant student community at Benilde Antipolo for the "Living Water, Living Earth: A Talk on Environmental Consciousness" seminar. Held at Benilde Hall, the afternoon brought together our National Coordinator, Christian Cuevas, alongside the Sanghiblayan Collective, to engage the youth in a meaningful dialogue on ecological stewardship. The seminar aimed to transform environmental awareness from mere classroom concepts into lifelong advocacy, challenging students to step up as active agents of change for our shared home.

โ€‹As the environmental arm of De La Salle Philippines, LIFE remains dedicated to bridging education and stewardship, ensuring that ecological consciousness flows actively throughout our entire network of Lasallian schools.
