โ€‹Incidents like the fire at the Navotas Sanitary Landfill can significantly reduce local air quality, raising important health and safety concerns for nearby residents.

โ€‹To help keep you safe, here are key health reminders:

1. โ€‹If you notice symptoms like difficulty breathing, coughing, or throat irritation, please take action.

2. โ€‹Minimize outdoor activities, wear a face mask when outside, and keep your home sealed by closing windows.

โ€‹Simple steps can go a long way. Stay vigilant, prioritize your health, and look out for one another during this time.

Tonight from ๐Ÿ–:๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ-๐Ÿ—:๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ ๐๐Œ, let's unplug and embrace an hour of quiet solidarity. Stepping away from the switch is a simple but powerful reminder of our shared responsibility to protect the earth and care for the vulnerable among us.

One hour of stillness. A lifetime of purpose.

Today marked the successful completion of the Environmental Impact Assessment Orientation for DLSP Schools, graciously hosted at De La Salle Araneta University. LIFE and the Facilities and Environmental Programs Management Commission brought together administrators, Pollution Control Officers, and environmental personnel. Attendees gathered with a shared sense of purpose and a deep commitment to caring for the common home. Their collective goal is to ensure all campus developments thoughtfully align with the Philippine EIS System under Presidential Decree 1586, reflecting a lifelong dedication to environmental stewardship.

โ€‹Participants were warmly welcomed by an inspiring opening message from Dr. Marie Allison E. Parpan, Chancellor of DLSAU, setting a collaborative tone for the day. The morning lecture series then featured distinguished regulatory and industry experts who generously shared their knowledge to deepen the understanding of environmental responsibility. Engr. Carl Del Rosario from the DENR-EMB Central Office guided attendees through the mandates and thoughtful enforcement of the system. Ms. Liezyl Liton-Relleta of Gaia South, Inc. offered her invaluable expertise in navigating the assessment process for educational institutions. Mr. Danilo Dogillo Jr. then shared with the group the compliance journey of the host university.

โ€‹The spirit of collaboration continued into the afternoon with a roundtable discussion among facilities managers and pollution control officers. The dialogue focused on openly evaluating the current state of compliance and standardizing the best possible practices across all the educational communities. This engaging activity was followed by an enriching physical plant tour of the campus.

โ€‹Representatives from several schools stepped up to the meaningful challenge of institutional sustainability. The gathering welcomed attendees from the following institutions:

De La Salle University Manila
โ€‹DLSU Laguna Campus
De La Salle Lipa โ€‹
La Salle Green Hills - 1959
La Salle College Antipolo
La Salle Academy, Iligan City
La Salle University - Ozamiz
De La Salle Araneta University

โ€‹By working together in this spirit of unity, these institutions are moving beyond merely avoiding penalties to proactively securing a greener and fully compliant future for students and the broader community.

Last day of at the UNCC in Bangkok!

โ€‹It has been an incredibly inspiring day as the 12th Better Air Quality Conference comes to a close. Todayโ€™s powerful closing sessions drove home critical, big-picture strategies for the entire Asia-Pacific region, from scaling low-emissions transport and financing climate-smart transitions, to firmly recognizing clean air as a fundamental human right.

โ€‹Amidst these vital regional conversations, LIFE was honored to contribute to the poster presentations this morning, sharing our preliminary study on De La Salle schools' renewable energy efforts with fellow advocates and innovators.

โ€‹Transforming our shared atmosphere requires shared responsibility. The insights, data-driven solutions, and cross-border collaborations forged here over the last few days will be absolutely instrumental in driving climate action forward.

We are โ€‹kicking off the day at ESCAP Hall for a crucial session hosted by the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC). โ€‹Right now, we're diving deep into the big-picture challenges: how to build real political will and break down the systemic barriers holding back clean air action. It's fascinating to hear how recent global milestones, like the G20 outcomes, are shaping the conversation.

โ€‹The panel is unpacking some incredibly innovative, on-the-ground solutions, from fixing critical data gaps and improving vehicle standards to regional roadmaps for eliminating open waste burning.

โ€‹True progress requires more than just policy; it demands unwavering political will and actionable, data-driven solutions to turn clear skies from a shared goal into a reality.
