PHILHEALTH TO IMPLEMENT 'RIGHT TO CARE'

The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) on Monday said health proxies can soon be declared in its updated membership form, a move aimed to ease members' access to healthcare services.

This move further aims to help individuals such as solo parents, Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), and members of the LGBTQ+ community designate individuals who can be recognized by healthcare providers on their behalf in cases of emergencies.

UNLEASH: Strengthening the Communities Behind the HIV Response

The HIV response is not built by institutions alone. It is strengthened every day by the people and community-based organizations (CBOs) who bring services, information, support, and hope directly to the communities they serve.

CAMP Pag-ayo, Inc. Through Camp Neñada Community Center is grateful to have been part of UNLEASH: LoveYourself Capacity Building, spearheaded by LoveYourself and Luxecare and organized by Hero by LoveYourself. The two-day gathering provided an important space for community workers, volunteers, and partners to learn, share experiences, reflect on our work, and strengthen the connections that make the HIV response more responsive and more grounded in the realities of the communities.

For us at CAMP, one message stood out strongly: CBOs are not merely partners in the HIV Program — we are an essential part of its foundation.

CBOs are often closest to the communities. We understand the barriers that prevent people from accessing HIV and STI services. We help create spaces where people feel safe to ask questions, get tested, start treatment, seek support, and remain engaged in care. We reach people who may otherwise remain unreached.

Beyond service delivery, CBOs contribute something equally important: trust.

And in the HIV response, trust can be the bridge between a person and the services they need.

Capacity-building initiatives such as UNLEASH and BEYOND LIMITS are therefore more than training activities. They are investments in the people and organizations that sustain the response on the ground. They give CBOs opportunities to strengthen their technical knowledge, exchange community-based practices, build networks, and renew our collective commitment to ending HIV as a public health threat.

CAMP Pag-ayo, Inc. deeply recognizes and appreciates the tremendous work of our fellow CBOs, community volunteers, advocates, healthcare workers, researchers, and partners who continue to show up for the HIV community.

When communities are strengthened, the entire HIV response becomes stronger.

And when CBOs are empowered, communities are empowered.

Thank you to LoveYourself Inc, Luxecare, Hero by LoveYourself, Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. and all the community partners who continue to create spaces where we can learn from one another and move the HIV response forward — together.

We UNLEASH not only our knowledge and potential, but the power of communities to lead the change.

UNLEASH: LoveYourself Capacity Building

Building stronger communities starts with strengthening the people who serve them. Spearheaded by LoveYourself and Luxecare, this year’s Capacity Building brought together our team, volunteers, and community partners for two days of learning, knowledge-sharing, and meaningful conversations. Organized by Hero by LoveYourself, the conference created a space for collaboration, reflection, and shared learning.

Through plenaries and breakout sessions, we explored HIV and STI prevention and management, mental health, and the role of community-based organizations in advancing public health in the Philippines. We also celebrated the people behind the work who continue to bring our advocacy, research, and campaigns to communities and beyond.

Together, we UNLEASHED our knowledge, passion, and potential to create healthier and more inclusive communities.

You are not alone your life matters. 💜✨

This National Su***de Prevention Month, let's foster spaces built on empathy, open conversation, and unconditional support. Reaching out for help is a sign of courage, and extending a listening ear can change everything.

How You Can Make a Difference:

Support: Show up for the people around you and remind them they don't have to carry their struggles alone.

Listen: Offer a compassionate, judgment-free space for someone to share their story.
Be the Reason: Be the reason someone feels heard, valued, and safe today.

If you or someone you know is going through a tough time, please remember that support is available. Let's look out for one another and break the silence. 📲👇

📣 CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS: Cultural Mapping Facilitators Training

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in partnership with the Batangas State University is inviting interested individuals to participate in the Cultural Mapping Facilitators Training. The training will be held in Batangas City, with the final schedule to be announced following the completion of the selection process.

The NCCA, through the Program Management Division, aims to expand the pool of resource persons who can facilitate cultural mapping activities all over the country. This initiative will strengthen the capacity of individuals within local communities to serve as cultural mapping facilitators and trainers, supporting LGUs in identifying and documenting their local cultural assets. In accordance with Section 64.2(e) of the IRR of Republic Act 11961, the creation of an NCCA-accredited pool of cultural mapping facilitators and trainers is recommended for each region.
In line with this, a total of four (4) participants per region will be selected to take part in the training, resulting in 72 participants across 18 regions of the country. However, if there are no qualified participants in a particular region, the NCCA may opt to reassign the slots that have not been occupied by some regions. The training shall be conducted in six (6) days using a hybrid format, combining both online and onsite sessions. This training shall be given to participants who have not previously served as NCCA Cultural Mapping facilitators.

For further inquiries, please coordinate with the PMD-Cultural Mapping Secretariat through [email protected] or call (02) 8527-2192 local 517/524.

Deadline of application is on 06 September 2026 (Sunday).

REGISTRATION IS FREE.

MENTAL HEALTH IS NOT THE ENEMY. SILENCE AND STIGMA CAN BE.

The recent school shooting in Zamboanga and Tacloban reminds us of something important: we cannot reduce violence to “mental health” or blame an entire community of people living with mental health conditions.

At the same time, we need to learn to recognize when someone may be struggling—especially when there are signs of severe distress, grievance, isolation, threats, or intentions to harm.

Under , CAMP and Camp Neñada Community Center believes that mental health advocacy means creating spaces where people can speak up before they reach a breaking point, where asking for help is not a weakness, and where seeking professional support is not something to be ashamed of.

And when tragedy happens, let’s not turn perpetrators into celebrities. Don’t amplify violent footage or sensationalize the person responsible. Let’s center the victims, protect vulnerable communities, and choose responsible conversations that prevent harm.

Talk. Listen. Notice. Intervene. Seek help.

Because reducing stigma isn't just about changing words—
it can help create communities where people are seen, heard, and supported before it’s too late.
