The Rotary Club of Mandaluyong proudly celebrates the successful launch of “Math Connects,” a 10-day math tutoring initiative. Designed to strengthen the foundational math skills of 20 learners from Grades 1 to 3, the project aims to make learning mathematics more engaging, interactive, and enjoyable for young students. Through fun-filled activities and carefully prepared learning modules, participants are encouraged to build confidence while improving their academic abilities.

This meaningful initiative is made possible through the collaboration of the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong, the student leaders and educators of Jose Rizal University, including the JRU-JHS Interact Club, Math Club, and Gastronomy Guild Club, together with the support of the Barangay Bagong Silang local government. The dedication of volunteer tutors, teachers, and community leaders reflects a shared commitment to promoting basic education and literacy among young learners.

As the program continues over the next two weeks, the team remains hopeful that “Math Connects” will leave a lasting impact on the students and inspire them to embrace learning with confidence and enthusiasm.

** An RCM Service Project **

In a heartfelt expression of compassion and service, the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong successfully carried out the “Wee Care Project,” spearheaded by SAG Oliver Salud, where hundreds of diapers and baby care essentials were handed over to Cottolengo Filipino, Inc.

This initiative was aimed to support the needs of special children and residents under the care of the institution. Through the generosity of RCM partners, donors, and friends, the project brought comfort, dignity, and hope to children who need it most.

The activity was made more meaningful through the warm fellowship with Fr. Julio Cuesta Ortega, FDP, together with the dedicated staff and caregivers of Cottolengo Filipino.

Guided by this year’s theme, “Unite for Good,” the project reflected the Rotary spirit of service above self through compassion, generosity, and genuine care.

RCM Breakfast Meeting
Merienda by Pan de Manila, San Juan City
May 7, 2026

Members of the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong gathered for a warm and meaningful breakfast meeting, where fellowship blended with discussions on important Club matters and upcoming activities.

Among the items discussed were the selection of the Club Elector for the upcoming District Legislative Meeting (DLM), updates regarding the Notice of Meeting at Jovan, both on May 29, 2026 and PP Mike’s suggestion on the Club’s artwork initiatives in coordination with Sec. Oliver and PP Roger.

The gathering became even more memorable with the chance meeting with Rtn. Phillip Ong of the Rotary Club of Manila, the oldest Rotary Club in Asia with over 107 years of history. The pleasantries opened for meaningful exchanges on Club leadership, membership engagement, and Club operations. Rtn. Phillip also expressed openness to future collaborative projects between RC Manila and RC Mandaluyong, especially with PE Reggie Yu now serving as President-Elect of RC Manila.
