Week 8 of our 20-Week (flagship) Inner Healing Program
Chapter 7: Renouncing Idols
At the Living Waters Fellowship Hall, it was a night of surrender at the foot of the cross, a night of confronting the things that have quietly enslaved our hearts, whether knowingly or unknowingly.
Ptr. Benji Cruz's teaching on "Renouncing Idols" exposed how sexual sins and struggles can become idols we unknowingly worship instead of God. He reminded us that "idolatry is the worship of the created rather than the Creator," and that demonic strongholds often surround sexual idolatry.
Ms. Jerry Gomez's testimony revealed that idols are not always obvious. Sometimes they hide behind self, other people, finances, careers, and other things that take God's rightful place in our hearts. Through God's mercy, she shared that freedom begins as we confess our sins, renounce our idols, bind them to the cross, and choose to walk in the path God has designed for us.
In the small group session, participants were guided to confess and renounce their idols, bind them to the cross, surrender them to God, and welcome a life of freedom in Christ, choosing to leave those idols behind and walk in the new life He offers.
Some truths that challenged us that night:
The worst life to live is a divided heart.
We need to make a hard choice for ourselves.
No one can do it for you.
As Living Waters Philippines celebrates 25 years of God's faithfulness, we continue inviting people to encounter the freedom only Jesus can give.
Join us at the "Inner Healing Conference: Meeting Jesus Where It Hurts" on November 7 at CCF Main, Ortigas, and discover that there is still hope, healing, and freedom in Christ.
