𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝟯𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀’ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟯)

Ateneo de Davao University hosted the concluding day of the 33rd Accounting Teachers’ Conference on 11 June 2026 at the Bapa Benny Tudtud Auditorium, Jacinto Campus.

Continuing the theme “Accounting Teachers in Mission: Leading with Impact,” participants attended a technical session on purpose-driven leadership led by University President Fr. Karel S. San Juan, SJ, which highlighted the role of educators in guiding and inspiring the next generation of accountants.

The conference concluded with a team-building activity facilitated by Ms. Nancy J. Pavia, LPT, together with the Physical Education faculty of Ateneo de Davao University, fostering collaboration, camaraderie, and meaningful engagement among participants. Simultaneously, online delegates participated in a technical session by Asst. Prof. Alvin Ringgo C. Reyes of the University of Santo Tomas on reinforcing the technological and pedagogical knowledge of accounting teachers through the TPACK framework.

As the conference drew to a close, participants departed with renewed insights, strengthened professional networks, and a shared commitment to advancing excellence and impact in accounting education.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝟯𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀’ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮)

Ateneo de Davao University hosted the gathering of accounting educators, practitioners, and academic leaders for the second day of the 33rd Accounting Teachers’ Conference on 10 June 2026 at the Bapa Benny Tudtud Auditorium, Jacinto Campus.

The day started with technical sessions led by Mr. Lucky Wilmar L. Cimatu, CPA, MSc, on the role of accounting educators in advancing sustainability and professional transformation, and Atty. Ira R. Calantrava-Valenzuela on safeguarding student data and strengthening data privacy practices in educational institutions.

In the afternoon, Dr. Henry Rufino, CPA, Associate Dean of Tarlac State University, shared practical insights on conducting and developing quality research in accounting education, followed by research presentations from Mr. Amir T. Auditor, CPA, MSA; Dr. Rex L. Carton, CPA, RN, REB, REA, JD; Mr. Jay T. Punayan, CPA, MBA, MPA; and Mr. Gonzalo D. Rualos Jr., CPA, MBA, DBA(c), highlighting studies on tax incentives, financial literacy, digital finance, and corporate financial performance.

The conference then concluded with a session by Dr. Nelly Z. Limbadan, RPSY, RPM, CSCLP, focusing on stress management and coping strategies in accounting education.

Through meaningful dialogue and knowledge-sharing, the conference continues to strengthen its commitment to advancing quality accounting education across the country.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝟯𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀’ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭)

Ateneo de Davao University welcomed accounting educators, practitioners, and academic leaders from across the country for the opening day of the 33rd Accounting Teachers’ Conference on 9 June 2026, at the Bapa Benny Tudtud Auditorium, Jacinto Campus.

Carrying the theme, “Accounting Teachers in Mission: Leading with Impact,” the first day featured discussions on industry roadmaps for accounting-related programs through the KAPIHAN Session. The panel brought together distinguished leaders from key professional organizations, including Ms. Angelita Claudio Ty, CPA, Vice President for Education of the PICPA National Office; Mr. Mark Jayson Agacer, US. CMA, CPA, CSCA, CSSYB, President of the Institute of Management Accountants – Philippine Chapter; Mr. Allan W. Ocho, CPA, CISA, CRISC, CISM, CPDSE, Co-Chair for External Linkages/CSR and Academe of the ISACA – Manila Chapter; and Ms. Christiane Joymiel Say Mendoza, CPA, CISA, CIA, 1st Vice President and Chair of the Advocacy Committee of the Institute of Internal Auditors Philippines. Together, they shared insights on the evolving landscape of the accounting profession and its implications for accounting education.

The conference then formally opened with the declaration of the 33rd Accounting Teachers’ Conference by Ms. Dyan Nicole M. Francisco, CPA, US. CMA, MBA, Vice President–External of NACPAE and Conference Chair, followed by messages from University President Fr. Karel S. San Juan, SJ, and NACPAE President Ms. Ruth E. Chew, CPA, MBA. Participants then attended technical sessions led by Hon. Thelma S. Ciudadano, CPA, on the scope and authority of the Board of Accountancy, and Mr. Lloyd Anton Von M. Colita, MEAL, on transformative communication approaches for accounting educators.

As the event continues, it serves as a platform for collaboration, professional growth, and the advancement of accounting education in service of the profession and society.

𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟖 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝟑𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐀𝐓𝐂

Technical Session 8 for onsite participants reminded us that teamwork, trust, and effective communication are essential ingredients of successful educational communities. Through engaging activities, participants strengthened professional relationships while fostering camaraderie among fellow accounting educators. Thank you Ms. Nancy Pavia and to your team for facilitating this session. For the online participants, Dr. Alvin Ringgo, emphasized the importance of strengthening the Technological, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework among accounting educators.

As the 33rd Accounting Teachers' Conference has ended,we celebrated three meaningful days of learning, collaboration, reflection, and professional growth here in the beautiful City of Davao.

Together, we explored emerging trends, strengthened our commitment to sustainability, embraced innovation in teaching, promoted data privacy, advanced research, prioritized well-being, and reflected on purposeful leadership. More importantly, we renewed our mission as accounting educators to create lasting impact in the lives of our students and communities.

Fr. Karel S. San Juan, SJ, President of Ateneo De Davao University, challenged accounting educators to reflect on their influence as mentors, role models, and nation-builders. Beyond developing technical competence, educators are entrusted with shaping character, ethics, and professional values.
