We look back with immense gratitude and pride to our Joint Handover & Induction Ceremony held last July 18, 2025 at Montalla Clubhouse, Marikina City—an occasion made even more meaningful as we welcomed the District Governor’s official visit to Rotary E‑Club of Inner Heart Mandaluyong! 🤝

It was a night of dual celebration: as we passed the torch of leadership between Rotary Club of Greenfield District and Rotary E‑Club of Inner Heart Mandaluyong, we also received valuable guidance, encouragement, and inspiration from District leadership—strengthening our resolve to serve with purpose and unity.

On July 4, 2026, the grand ballroom of the Edsa Shangri-La Hotel in Mandaluyong City became the epicenter of inspiration as Rotary International District 3800 hosted its historic Handover and Induction Ceremony.

The event marked a brilliant, monumental transition of leadership. Outgoing Immediate Past District Governor (IPDG) Gina Sanchez officially handed over the district helm to the incoming District Governor (DG) Celso Montalla, launching a new era under the worldwide theme "Create Lasting Impact".

Concurrently, the Rotary E-Club of Inner Heart Mandaluyong celebrated its own vital milestone: passing the club torch from the dedicated Charter President (CP) / "Good President" Jaena Jimenez, to the incoming "High Last Impact President" Maridel Barcelon.

The Legacy of CP Jaena Jimenez: As the club's founding leader, Charter President Jaena successfully institutionalized a culture of empathy, collaborative action, and stellar project ex*****on—exemplified by getting the club featured prominently in the Philippine Rotary Magazine.

The Horizon of High Last Impact President Maridel Barcelon: Stepping into her term, President Maridel assumes command with a focus on legacy-building. Her administration is charged with scaling the e-club's reach, blending digital-forward operational efficiency with deeply rooted, hands-on community projects that leave an indelible mark on Mandaluyong and beyond.

Visionary and Founder: Charter President Jimenez shaped the Rotary E-Club of Inner Heart's core mission specifically around her passion for assisting cardiovascular patients who cannot afford life-saving heart surgeries.

Grant Leadership: She has been the lead driver in the Global Grant application process for GG2125555, overseeing its strategic planning and implementation.

Partnership Building: She spearheaded sister club agreements and international collaborations to secure the necessary funding and support for the grant.

The medical implementation is driven by highly specialized experts from the PHC:
Dr. Gerardo S. Manzo: Serving as the Deputy Executive Director for Medical Services, Dr. Manzo is a prominent Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeon. He has been a key figure in expanding cardiac care accessibility across the Philippines through regional heart centers.

Dr. Juliet J. Balderas: The Department Manager for Pediatric Cardiology at PHC, Dr. Balderas leads the pediatric surgical programs. She is a renowned advocate for children's heart health and has spearheaded numerous outreach missions aimed at treating underprivileged children with congenital heart defects.

Roles in Project Implementation
Surgical Expertise: The PHC provides the specialized surgical teams and diagnostic facilities required for complex pediatric heart surgeries.

Medical Oversight: Dr. Manzo and Dr. Balderas oversee the clinical selection of indigent patients to ensure that the grant's resources reach those in most urgent need.

Sustainability & Training: Through their leadership, the project also focuses on training medical personnel to maintain high standards of cardiovascular care beyond the grant's immediate scope.

This collaboration between Rotary District 3800 and the Philippine Heart Center combines community funding with top-tier medical expertise to directly reduce child mortality from heart disease in the Philippines.
