Unilab Foundation's Project Kaakbay successfully concluded its pilot school-based implementation in Sorsogon Province through a Training of Trainers and Culminating Activity conducted last April 3, 2025 at Our Lady of Peñafrancia Auditorium, Sorsogon City.

The activity was attended by representatives from Project Kaakbay’s institutional partners in Sorsogon — including the DepEd Sorsogon Province, the Provincial Youth Development Office (Office of the Provincial Youth Development Officer-Sorsogon), and the School Health Councils — as well as Project Kaakbay learner volunteers, student leaders, and representatives from Bulan National High School, Donsol National Comprehensive High School, Gallanosa National High School, Gubat National High School, and Pambansang Mataas na Paaralang Komprehensibo ng Pilar.

The Training of Trainers and Culminating Activity was conducted following the successful implementation of the different health-based school projects of the five participating schools. The event was able to engage the different participants especially the members of the School Health Council not only in a refresher course for the continuous roll-out of the different Health Modules but also in a series of discussions with key partners and stakeholders to ensure the sustainability of the different health-based projects of each respective school. Through the signing of the Pledge of Commitment, the activity was also able to secure the commitment of the five mega schools in Sorsogon to continue to contribute to the health, safety, and well-being of their school community.
