The 𝐏𝐆𝐂𝐀 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐏. 𝐀𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧, and the 𝐏𝐅𝐑𝐃 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐄𝐝𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐨 𝐅. 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐚, inked the 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, officially kicking off a collaboration that will make a massive difference in the lives of many families. Witnessing this momentous event were the PGCA Officers: Ms. Ma. Honey Belle B. Vicencio, PGCA VP for Internal Affairs, and Dr. Angelie D. Bautista, PGCA PRO; and PFRD Officers, Dr. Irma C. Coronel, and Ms. Chary Mercado. On behalf of PGCA, Dr. Jaclyn Marie L. Cauyan, VP for External Affairs, and on behalf of PFRD, Dr. Coronel are the point-persons for this project.

Parenting a child with a disability is a journey filled with unique and profound challenges. To help navigate this, PGCA and PFRD are joining forces to roll out the 𝐂𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 in public schools for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year!

We will tap passionate, volunteer licensed guidance counselors from our chapters to extend a helping hand and facilitate this life-changing program. This will be your chance to use your expertise to directly empower the parents and caregivers who need it most.
💡 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬
𝐀 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞: PFRD is one of the oldest NGOs in the country devoted to persons with disabilities, having championed this cause for an incredible 76 years (registered with the SEC in 1950)!
𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭: This Coping Skills Program isn't new—it had its first run back in 2004 at P. Gomez Elementary School. Since then, it has already empowered over 2,011 participants across 25 public schools, LGUs, and dioceses, with professional guidance counselors and psychologists facilitating the process!
𝐍𝐨𝐰, 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥. Together, we can build a more supportive, inclusive environment where every child and parent can thrive. 💙💛

31st Apolinario Mabini Awards Ceremony

The 31st Apolinario Mabini Awards Ceremony will be held on August 3, 2026, at the Romualdez Hall, House of Representatives, with the Speaker of the House, Hon. Faustino "Bojie" G. Dy III, serving as the Guest of Honor and Award Presenter.

Now in its 52nd year, the Apolinario Mabini Awards was established in 1974 by the Philippine Foundation for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled (PFRD), one of the country's pioneering non-government organizations dedicated to advancing the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities.

With inclusion as this year's guiding theme, the ceremony will recognize outstanding individuals, groups, and organizations whose exemplary efforts have promoted the meaningful inclusion, empowerment, and participation of persons with disabilities in society.

The Awarding Ceremony for the 31st Apolinario Mabini Awards originally set for December 2025 is moved to the first quarter of 2026 due to unforeseen circumstances.
