𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍: 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐈𝐒𝐄𝐅 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Filipino student-researchers brought pride to the country after receiving multiple special awards at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) 2026, the world’s largest pre-college STEM competition.

Students Jose Rafael Ong Cayabyab, Cassandra Aubrey Cervantes Lipango, and Eirah Gabrielle Abila Riduca of Quezon City Science High School received two special awards: the Arizona State University Scholarship Award and the Society Alumni Special Award, recognizing the impact of their project on academic growth and life trajectory.

Meanwhile, students Asher John Salenga Garcia, Pierre Phoella Goingco Ilagan, and Nathan Andrew Punzalan Canilao of Angeles City Science High School earned a 3rd Place Special Award from Aramco, which recognizes excellence in energy innovation and environmental stewardship.

GBF Young Scientist Awardee and scholar Charly David Tawatao Manuel of Alaminos City National High School also received a special award from the Patent and Trademark Office Society for his outstanding innovation.

At the Gokongwei Brothers Foundation, we believe that when young Filipinos are given access to opportunities, mentorship, and quality STEM education, they can create solutions that not only compete globally, but also address real challenges in their communities.

These recognitions reflect the growing potential of Filipino youth to lead through science, innovation, and purpose.

Gokongwei Brothers Foundation proudly congratulates our GBF STEM College Scholarship scholars for successfully passing the April 2026 Pharmacists Licensure Examination.​

Our scholar-graduate, Kyla Camille Ortal from Mariano Marcos State University, placed 2nd out of 1,895 examinees. ​

Across the Philippines, many teachers continue to face the challenge of helping learners recover foundational reading and math skills. For teachers Renz Pabico, Marina Cajes, and Leilanie Palmero, the challenge became even more urgent with the implementation of the Department of Education’s ARAL Program.

Through the GBF STEM Collab Community and National Educators Academy of the Philippines' 𝑨𝑹𝑨𝑳 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒉 𝑹𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒆𝒔, these educators gained practical strategies that not only helped their learners but also empowered fellow teachers in their schools.

𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼, 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗿𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗩-𝗔, 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗮, 𝗠𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗔, 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘀, 𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗦

Young innovators from Davao (DEPED Region XI), Calabarzon IV-A(DepEd R-4A Calabarzon), Caraga (DepEd Caraga Region), MIMAROPA (DepEd MIMAROPA Region), and Central Visayas (DepEd Tayo Region VII) emerged among the top performers in this year’s National Festival of Talents (NFOT) STEMazing High School Competition, held in Roxas City, Capiz.

The Gokongwei Brothers Foundation (GBF) proudly supported the DepEd Philippines in this nationwide platform that brings together our students as they showcase their various talents as well as competencies in STEM.

The STEMazing segment pushed the students to go beyond the classroom through physical exploration, scientific inquiry, and mathematical problem-solving using real-world challenges. Through this, they demonstrated not only their knowledge, but their ability to think critically and create solutions that matter.

Beyond the competition, GBF engaged over 100 Education Program Supervisors and teacher-coaches from 18 regions, to discuss programs that support their professional development such as GBF STEM Collab and GBF Class Builder.

At GBF, we believe that opportunities like STEMazing help unlock the potential of our students—empowering them to become future innovators and nation-builders.
