A new academic year officially begins today, July 13, 2026! As we return to our classrooms after the vacation break, we also welcome another opportunity to continue learning and growing throughout our journey at the University.

Returning to school after weeks of rest may take some adjustment, but every new beginning offers a chance to set new goals, embrace fresh experiences, and continue striving for success. On May 26, 2026, the Liberal Arts Students Organization (LASO) participated in “Habi ng Pamana: A Basket Weaving Activity with the Dumagat Community” held at the National Museum of the Philippines – Rizal. 📍

The activity introduced participants to the intricate process of basket weaving, a practice that serves as a source of livelihood and reflects the Dumagat community’s enduring connection with nature. Through the hands-on experience, participants gained a deeper appreciation for the dedication involved in transforming natural materials into woven crafts. The activity also provided an opportunity to learn about the community’s cultural heritage and the traditions that continue to be preserved and passed on through generations. 🧺🌿

LASO extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Dumagat Community and the National Museum of the Philippines – Rizal for their warm welcome and for providing a meaningful opportunity to learn about the Dumagat community’s culture through its weaving traditions. ✨

Ms. Eleonor V. Atencio is a member of the Dumagat/Remontado ICCs/IPs of Brgy. Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal. A teacher by profession, she is currently serving her community as a public-school teacher under the Department of Education in Tanay, Rizal.
She has been the School IPED Coordinator of Cuyambay Elementary School from 2013 up to the present and has also served as the District IPED Coordinator of Tanay, Rizal since 2014.
Ms. Atencio is also the current President of the Dumagat Indigenous Peoples (IPs) Community, continuously advocating for the preservation of Indigenous culture, traditions, and education within her community.

Last May 6, 2026, the Liberal Arts Students Organization (LASO) had the opportunity to participate in “Merkado: Boses ng Kabataan sa Diskurso at Paghubog ng Pambansang Ekonomiya,” held at the OZ Conference Room, Adamson University. The seminar reintroduced the idea of the “Merkado” as a dynamic space of exchange where young people share ideas and perspectives that contribute to shaping the national economy.

During the seminar, the speakers centered their discussion on the importance of training and educating the youth to strengthen human capital and support career development. In connection with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on economic growth, the discussion emphasized the importance of preparing students with the necessary knowledge and skills to lead and respond effectively in their respective fields. The session further highlighted the role of professionals in driving national growth through competence and strong social responsibility.

LASO extends its sincere appreciation to HIRAYA – Adamson University for the invitation and for providing a meaningful platform where the youth are encouraged to take part in conversations on nation-building and economic development.

As the Academic Year 2025–2026 comes to a close, the Liberal Arts Students Organization (LASO) still warmly recognizes and congratulates the Rizalian students from the AB English and History programs who earned a place on the Dean’s List for the First Semester. Although this recognition comes a little later, LASO remains proud to celebrate and acknowledge their hard work and academic achievement. 🌟

Through their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to their studies, these students have earned a recognition that truly reflects their efforts and determination.
