Serving our Seniors with PURPOSE and COMPASSION
In celebration of the Elderly Filipino Week, the Ministry of Health (MOH), in close collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Maluso, through the Rural Health Unit (RHU), Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), and the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), successfully conducted a comprehensive Medical Mission dedicated to the well-being of our beloved senior citizens.
This meaningful activity aimed to bring essential healthcare closer to the community, ensuring that every elderly resident—especially those with limited access to medical services—receives the care, attention, and support they truly deserve.
Throughout the mission, seniors benefited from a wide range of free health services, including:
Medical consultation facilitated by RHU physicians and health professionals
Basic health screenings, such as:
Blood pressure monitoring
Blood sugar testing
Vital signs assessment
Health evaluation and risk assessment to identify early signs of common age-related conditions
Distribution of essential medicines for maintenance and immediate health needs
Distribution of Assistive Devices, Quad Canes
Provision of vitamins to support immune health and everyday wellness
Free reading glasses to assist seniors with vision difficulties
Health counseling on proper nutrition, medication adherence, and chronic disease management
Beyond providing services, the mission also emphasized the importance of health awareness and preventive care, empowering seniors with the knowledge needed to maintain healthier lifestyles. The activity fostered a warm atmosphere of care, unity, and compassion—reminding our elders that the community stands with them, values them, and prioritizes their well-being.
This initiative reflects the unwavering commitment of the LGU Maluso and partner agencies to uplift and support the senior citizen sector, ensuring they continue to live healthy, dignified, and fulfilling lives.
