Emergency Evacuation
June 8, 2026

The Bajau community evacuated following an earthquake and possible tsunami threat, after unusual sea water withdrawal was observed along the coastline.

Evacuees were relocated to CSFI buildings and nearby barangay gymnasiums for temporary shelter. Staff and the Director coordinated with the local government and the (DSWD) in Maluso to secure immediate assistance for affected families. The situation remains under monitoring to ensure community safety.

The second and final day of our meeting with Bro. Joseph Villarin, CMF focused on improving CSFI’s mission, especially in the Education and Livelihood components. We reflected on our purpose, shared ideas, and discussed better ways to serve the communities

The meeting inspired us to continue serving with greater dedication and compassion. It encouraged us to improve our way of serving and to remain committed to the mission of CSFI.

The first day of the meeting of Claret Samal Foundation, Inc.(CSFI) focused on revisiting the mission and purpose of the foundation. Guided by Bro. Joseph Villarin from Mission Procure, the team reflected on why CSFI continues to promote education and livelihood programs for the Bajau community.

The discussion helped deepen everyone’s understanding that the foundation’s mission is not only to provide services, but to help improve lives through education, empowerment, and sustainable opportunities. It also became a time for reflection, sharing, and renewing the commitment of the team in serving the community.
