KAPE'T KWENTUHAN | MHC PANTRY AND MENTAL HEALTH BOOTH β˜•

IT’S A WRAP FOR MHC 2025 – 2026 TERM πŸ‘‚πŸ»

Ending on a high note with our final initiative, "Mental Health First Aid for Faculty Members." This event, which concluded earlier today, provided a deep and compassionate experience for everyone who attended.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Ruben E. Borja II (Chancellor - Main Campus) for his meaningful opening remarks, which set a positive tone for the day, and to Mrs. Estrella L. Ranas, RGC (Head, Guidance and Counseling Services Center Main Campus) for her reflective closing words that gave us much to think about. We also want to thank Ms. Ma. Rotessa E. Reyes for delivering an incredibly informative talk that shared vital knowledge with our community. Most importantly, we are grateful to the faculty members and the students who joined us.

The invitation was extended to the students as well to maximize the shared knowledge and discussion, as many of the topics are highly applicable to their daily lives. Having both groups together was essential in building a safer and more supportive space for the entire campus.

This initiative represents a significant step forward in our journey toward a future where mental health is fully recognized and understood. By working together, we are effectively breaking the negative stigmas that society has built over the years. Our hope is that the impact of this program does not end today. Instead, we hope it continues to grow and flourish, benefiting not only our students and faculty members but also the common people we serve.

The Beyond Awareness: A Mental Health First Aid Training Response for Faculty serves as a crucial step toward building a more compassionate and responsive academic community.

Guiding us in this meaningful initiative is Miss Ma. Rotessa Reyes, a Senior Recruiter at PSG Global Solutions and Origo Global, and a dedicated mental health advocate. She is the International President and one of the founders of All About Mental Health PH, continuously championing accessible and community-driven mental health initiatives.

A graduate of Bulacan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, cm laude, she has demonstrated exemplary leadership throughout her academic years. She served as Senator of the Student Government (2021–2022), CSSP Governor of the Local Student Council (2019–2021), and Chairman of the BulSU SG Mental Health Coalition (2021–2022). Her contributions have been recognized through the BulSU and CSSP Student Leadership Awards (2020–2022) and as a recipient of Huwarang Kababaihan ng Malolos (2021). She also represented her institution as an exchange student in an international research program in Singapore in 2021.

With her strong background in leadership, mental health advocacy, and community engagement, Ms. Reyes brings a compassionate and practical approach to supporting individuals in need. Her work continues to inspire safe spaces where understanding leads to action and support becomes accessible for all.

By equipping faculties with essential knowledge and skills, this initiative goes beyond awareness β€” this training empowers educators to recognize early signs of distress, provide immediate support, and guide students toward appropriate help.

When the weight of responsibility grows, who supports those who guide others? Presenting, A Mental Health First Aid Response for Faculty.
