The role of the Student Regent demands more than representation. It requires conviction, courage, and a steadfast commitment to support the interests and welfare of the student body. It calls for a leader who is willing to stand with students, amplify their concerns, and bring their voices to the highest governing body of the university.

Throughout the years, President Iesu Cruz has demonstrated exactly that. Long before holding his current position as the Student Government President, he has been a consistent ally, actively engaging with issues that matter and lending his voice to causes that affect the students. The College of Nursing has witnessed this firsthand through his support for student concerns and his willingness to stand in advocating for the collegeโ€™s collective interests.

This month is dedicated to raising awareness about scoliosis and promoting the importance of early detection, proper assessment, and timely intervention. As a condition characterized by an abnormal curvature of the spine, scoliosis can affect individuals of different ages and may progress without noticeable symptoms during its early stages.

Through education and awareness, we can help encourage regular screening, increase understanding of the condition, and support individuals who are navigating the challenges that scoliosis may bring. Greater awareness not only helps with early recognition but also empowers individuals and families to make informed decisions regarding their health and well-being.

As we observe Scoliosis Awareness Month, let us continue to advocate for spinal health, foster informed conversations, and show support for those living with scoliosis.
