Jude Thaddeus Chapel in BLISS, Banaybanay, Malinao, Aklan, Philippines was established decades ago through the collaborative effort of the community members. Unfortunately, the chapel was affected during the onslaught of Super Typhoon Yolanda last November 8, 2013. It was totally damaged leaving no part of the structure useful. The religious activities of the local folks were totally affected and
all devotees were not able to hold the mass because of this reason. With the chapel’s distressing situation, the community members initiated its reconstruction through the BLISS Community Association (BCA) with its Committee on Sentro Katoliko. Every household had contributed five hundred fifty pesos (P550.00) to augment the expenses for the rebuilding of the chapel. The community had also conducted “ Sagibin” (a local term for helping each other with no monetary exchange) in order to start the project. With only fifty households in the community, the collection is not enough to buy all the materials needed for the construction. With this, the officers of the association spearheaded to solicit funds from the members of the community working abroad. However, the money is not enough to purchase all the needed materials for the project. Hence, this on line page is created. With our desire to finish the construction of the chapel, we are humbly asking for generous individuals to help us augment the needed construction materials for the completion of the St. We believe that your help can contribute much for the realization of the project.
