IP Children/Ligsek: Voices for Change!

Indigenous Peoples (IP) Children/Ligsek of Malaybalay City actively participated in the Children's Congress held at the New City People's Hall as part of the 33rd National Children's Month Celebration.

Together, we uphold the call to action: "OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!" Let's ensure a safe future for all children, especially in the digital world.

"Laro ng Lahi for Children” brought laughter, teamwork, and cultural pride as IP children from Laguitas, Imbayao, Bangcud, San Jose, and Brgy. 9 gathered at the San Jose Covered Court. This Children’s Month celebration was made possible through the partnership of CSWDO headed by Ivy Amor Urbina and the City IPMR Office led by Datu Makayuba Renato Sumbongan, with the support of the MCBASS Officers. A day of fun, unity, and heritage for our young ones!

We're thrilled to be finalizing the proper distribution and implementation of the Beads Making Livelihood project for each district, a fantastic initiative from the City IPMR Office. We also laid out other key development plans aimed at empowering the IP Youth in Malaybalay City.

"Empowering Youth Through Traditional Bead Making"

May 20, 2025—MCBASS, in collaboration with the City IPMR Office and led by City IPMR Datu Makayuba Renato S. Sumbongan, successfully hosted a Bead Making Skill Training at the City IP Tulugan.

This initiative aims to empower indigenous youth with a valuable skill, fostering the promotion and preservation of the rich cultures of the Bukidnon, Higaunon, and Umayamnon tribes within Malaybalay City.

—The threads of our ancestors are woven into the beads we craft today, carrying the stories, the spirit, and the beauty of our people into the future.
