FLMFI Community values communal rest and recreation, especially towards the end of the formation year of the Binhi hu Paglaum in Cabanglasan, Zamboanguita, and Miarayon.

On March 31, 2026, the three leadership houses celebrated the year at Our Lady of Lourdes Spring Resort (Cabanglasan & Zamboanguita) and Hagwangan Spring Resort (Miarayon). It began with an Indigenous prayer, facilitated by Ms. Ivy Grace Linggay for the Binhi of Miarayon and by Mr. Lito Donato for the Binhi of Cabanglasan & Zamboanguita, asking for guidance, safety & solidarity.

The community felt joy as they celebrated success and remembered the lessons learned through teambuilding activities. With this, different types of smiles and laughter made it memorable.

May this rest and recreation reaffirm the Binhi hu Paglaum Leaders of their dedication towards their becoming.

The FLMFI staff, together with the Kapawa Leaders, are deeply grateful for the opportunity to participate in a crucial Standard First Aid Training focused on responding to environmental injuries and emergencies. The session was facilitated by Malaybalay City Health personnel (Sir Steven Gary Manuel and Sir Ed Stephen Espartero) on April 8, 2026, at the Jesuit Retreat House in Malaybalay.

We also extend our sincere gratitude to JRH for the invitation and for providing a meaningful space for learning and service.

May this experience not only deepen our knowledge and preparedness, but also empower our staff and leaders to share these life-saving skills with the communities we continue to serve with care, compassion, and solidarity.

Last March 23, 2026, Zacara P. Lastimado, an Umajamnon from Bukidnon, graced the Graduation Ceremony of Loyola College of Culion as the guest speaker, sharing not just words, but a lived journey of faith, struggle, and purpose.

In her reflection,โ€œ๐™„๐™จ ๐™ƒ๐™–๐™ซ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™€๐™™๐™ช๐™˜๐™–๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ ๐™€๐™ฃ๐™ค๐™ช๐™œ๐™?โ€, she reminded the graduates that education, while a gift and a privilege, is not the end of the journey. More than achievements and recognition, she invited everyone to live education, to feel it, question it, and allow it to transform oneโ€™s life and community.

From her own pilgrimage as a young Indigenous missionary, she offered three enduring graces:
๐™‹๐™–๐™œ๐™ ๐™–๐™ช๐™œ๐™–๐™ฉ (Rootedness)
๐™๐™œ๐™ฃ๐™–๐™ฎ๐™–๐™ฃ (Relationship)
๐™†๐™–๐™—๐™ช๐™ก๐™ช๐™๐™–๐™ฃ (Meaning)

To be rooted in oneโ€™s identity, culture, and values. To nurture relationships that give life and deepen oneโ€™s humanity. And to choose a life of meaning, a mission lived not for oneself alone, but for and with others.

As the graduates of Loyola College of Culion begin a new chapter, may they carry with them not only what they have learned, but who they are called to become, people who choose to serve, to stand with others, and to respond with generosity to Godโ€™s call.

Sa paggunita ng Araw ng Kagitingan, ang FLMFI ay nakikiisa sa pag-alala sa mga buhay na inialay, sa mga dugo at luhang dumanakโ€”upang makamtan ang kalayaan ng bayan.

Araw ng Kagitingan is a solemn remembrance of courage born in suffering. It honors Filipino and allied soldiers who endured the brutality of the Bataan Death March, choosing resilience and dignity even in the face of defeat. More than a recollection of history, it is a recognition that their sacrifice helped slow the tide of war, safeguarded future freedom, and shaped the nationโ€™s enduring spirit of courage.

On March 21-24, 2026, an intentional engagement took place in Culion, Palawan, Philippines, together with Ms. Sailyn Guarin and Ms. Zacara Lastimado, as representatives of the institution.

A series of conversations made the visit meaningful and purposeful. One of the highlights was the dialogue with the Tagbanua scholars of Loyola College of Culion and the parents of the Kapawa hu Paglaum Leader, a space to share their disposition as Indigenous Peoples, provision of an overview of Jesuit Indigenous Peoples Ministry in Bukidnon through FLMFI, especially on the scholarship and formation application process, and Kapawa hu Paglaum engagement updates with the Indigenous Peoples of Bukidnon. Moreover, Fr. Neopito Saicon, SJ, the LCC President, and Kathlea Roxas, the IP Coordinator, engaged with FLMFI on the mission direction, sharing of Indigenous Peoples' aspirations, and partnership through contract signing.

May the engagement bring light of hope to our Communities in Culion and beyond.

The celebration does not end in a month, it lives on in every story, struggle, and victory of women who continue to rise. Today, we feature the voices of our Kapawa hu Paglaum, our Basbasunons, especially our graduating women, whose journeys reflect courage, resilience, and hope.

May we all be reminded that every woman carries a strength that cannot be confined to a single month. Their dreams, sacrifices, and victories stand as living proof that empowerment is a daily choice and a lifelong journey.

May the Resurrection of the Lord renew in us the grace to see Him in all things, to walk with discerning hearts, and to respond generously to His call. As one community, may we continue to serve with faith, hope, and love for and with others especially our Indigenous brothers and sisters.

For the past few days, we have walked with the Lord, in silence, in suffering, and in surrender. Now, in this Easter Vigil, we proclaim: ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—Ÿ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ป! We celebrate His Resurrection and the hope it brings to our lives.

In solidarity with the Paschal Vigil at the Jesuit Retreat House-Malaybalay, the Kapawa Community assisted in the celebration of the Holy Mass, presided over by Fr. Bruno Delaunay, SJ, and concelebrated by Fr. Mat Sanchez, SJ.

During the homily, a question was raised: Why do Christians continue to remain in the faith? This reminds us that our faith is rooted in the Resurrection of Christ, a faith that sustains us and calls us to continue.

In response, we are invited to say yes intentionally. Like what fr. Bruno said in his homily, we say yes to becoming men and women for others, and yes to offering our lives [in service to others.]

As we proclaim that the Lord is risen, may this Easter Vigil help us rekindle our faith and recognize Godโ€™s presence in our lives, in our Indigenous communities, and in the story of our salvation through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer.

This Good Friday, the Veneration of the Cross was held at the Jesuit Retreat House, facilitated by Fr. Tony Moreno, SJ, and Fr. Carlo Lacang, SJ.

During the homily, Fr. Tony reminded us to be like Jesusโ€“faithful, open, and willing to be led by the Spirit.

He emphasized a deeper reflection: Do we have our own โ€œJerusalemโ€ in life? Do we avoid it? Do we evade it? Or do we find ourselves like Peter, in moments of great denial? These are questions we are invited to answer, both personally and as a community.

May this reverence for the Cross invite us to remain rooted in Jesusโ€™ love, revealed through His sacrifice for all creation.

The Kapawa hu Paglaum of Fr. Leoni Mission Foundation, Inc. participated in the mass celebration at the Jesuit Retreat House in Impalambong, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. The mass was concelebrated by the following Jesuits: Fr. Melvin Paulme, SJ, Fr. Carlo Lacang, SJ, Fr. Matteo Sanchez, SJ, and Fr. Bruno Delaunay, SJ.

Fr. Melvin reminded us of the love that extends further, that we are capable of doing things as long as we choose Him. He also let us reflect on the question, "Who will we choose to be?"

A momentous event was the washing of Kapawa hu Paglaum Leaders' feet by Fr. Melvin, symbolizing that we are one with the Lord.

May this season of Holy Week reignite our spirits and our relationship with the Holy Father. Let us share His love and service to our communities.
