STRENGTHENING TIES | Cross Swords Come Full Circle in 4DTS Courtesy Visit and Chapter Growth
On June 03, 2025 in a meaningful show of unity and shared purpose, the League of Cross Swords in the Philippines – Council of Commanders paid a courtesy visit to LTC EDUARDO A. PRECIOSO JR (INF) PA, Assistant Commandant of the 4th Division Training School (4DTS) at Camp Osito Bahian, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
Leading the League delegation was League Commander Kenneth P. Teves, joined by:
🔹 Atty. Virgilio A. Galarrita Jr., Public Relations Commander & Director for Chapter Affairs
🔹 Shellane B. Intal, Records Commander
🔹 Hazel Joy Vergara, Chapter Commander – Bukidnon State University (BSU)
🔹 Kent Pang-an Quieta, Chapter Commander – Xavier University (XU)
🔹 Other active Cross Swords from BSU and XU Chapters
It was a special moment of reconnection as LTC Precioso is a proud member of Batch 41 of the Cross Sword – Xavier University Chapter. What began as a warm “kumustahan” among fellow Cross Swords soon evolved into a purposeful dialogue on advancing the League’s mission.
Held at the Unit's conference hall, the meeting included a brief but impactful presentation on the League’s Chaptering Program, which aims to strengthen and expand Cross Sword chapters in ROTC-offering institutions across the country—under the Philippine Army, Air Force, or Navy. A key point of collaboration discussed was the upcoming Leadership Training Seminar targeting senior ROTC cadet officers in Bukidnon.
A meaningful part of the encounter was the presentation of symbolic tokens to LTC Precioso: 🔹 A Cross Sword Xavier University membership pin, symbolizing loyalty to the bond of brotherhood
🔹 A League of Cross Swords bottle opener, a light-hearted yet thoughtful reminder that “at the end of every mission or endeavor, there is always a time to relax and open a bottle”
🔹 A Philippine Army car badge/memorabilia, one of the proud products of the Cross Sword Cooperative Fund, which serves as the financial backbone of the organization and a testament to its self-sustaining, service-oriented mission
It’s worth noting that the Cross Sword BSU Chapter was formally established on May 19, 2019, along with the chapters at Saint Theresa College in Tandag City and Agusan del Sur College in Bayugan City. At that time, all three were under the Philippine Air Force ROTC program. Today, the BSU ROTC Unit is now under the Philippine Army, and the League continues to offer its full support to its evolving journey.
The League of Cross Swords remains a values-driven, service-oriented organization anchored on the principles of Duty, Honor, and Loyalty. Its exclusive membership of former and current ROTC cadet officers stands committed to building leadership grounded in discipline, integrity, and public service.
This visit reaffirms our resolve to empower cadet leaders, strengthen chapter roots, and deepen the connections between the League and our partner military institutions.
Long live Cross Swords!
