JUST IN: San Miguel Corp. has reportedly backed out from the proposed P7.78-billion Boracay bridge project.
This was announced by Aklan Governor Jose Enrique “Joen” Miraflores on Wednesday, May 27, during a stakeholders' meeting in Boracay Island.
Miraflores said it was during a May 13 meeting with San Miguel Corp. President and CEO Ramon Ang that they were made aware of the decision.
Citing Ang, the governor said that it was the loud opposition of local stakeholders that made San Miguel Corp. cancel the project that was already awarded by the DPWH. | via Tara Yap
