The Local Government Unit of Malay, through the Municipal Youth Development Office and the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, in partnership with the Municipal Sports and Development Office, proudly launches this year’s Linggo ng Kabataan 2025 with the theme: “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond.”
This month-long celebration promises to be bigger, bolder, and louder, highlighting the voices, talents, and leadership of young Malaynons aged 15 to 30.

The Pag-Asa Youth Association of the Philippines, Malay Chapter, together with the the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Malay, under the leadership of Mayor Frolibar S. Bautista and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) headed by Ms. Jerre Mae B. Prado, RSW, activity participated in the 51st Founding Anniversary of the Pag-Asa Youth Association of the Philippines from July 24-25, 2025. The event, themed "Thriving, Not Just Surviving: Holistic Support for Socio-Emotional Well-Being, Igniting Hope and Shaping the Future of the New Era of PYAP-AKO," was held at the Gov. Corazon L. Cabagnot Tourism and Training Center in Old Buswang, Kalibo, Aklan.

This activity was spearheaded by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office. The primary objective of the 2-day event was to equip youth participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to support their peers and the community. Notably, the event featured esteemed speakers who addressed the significance of PYAP, financial literacy, finding purpose and direction as Aklanon Out-of-School Youth (OSY), and facilitated focused group discussions and team building activities.

The event concluded successfully and peacefully, culminating in photo opportunities. 💚

Last year, Aklan Trekkers Inc. organized a tree-growing activity that brought together the Malaynon Ati Indigenous Youth in a meaningful act of environmental and cultural renewal. 🌳
With hands in the soil of their ancestral land, these youth planted native trees—not only to restore the forest, but to reclaim their deep, living connection to the land of their ancestors. It was more than a reforestation effort; it was an expression of identity, stewardship, and resilience.
✨ This initiative echoes the vision of AMLIG Malay—a local movement to protect the mountains, rivers, lands, islands, coasts, and reefs of Malay. By anchoring conservation in indigenous knowledge and youth leadership, AMLIG Malay fosters a future where people, planet, and culture thrive together.
🙌 Let’s honor the Ati youth of Malay—guardians of heritage, protectors of biodiversity, and advocates for climate resilience.

The Malay Youth Development Office is looking for committed and passionate Youth Responder Volunteers from every barangay!

If you're ready to step up and make a difference in your community, this is your chance! Volunteers will undergo Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Training, Basic Life Support (BLS), First Aid, and more!
