Kara nga agahon it Huwebes, matagumpay nating isinagawa ang Ikalawang Committee Hearing at inaprubahan para sa First Reading ang panukalang ordinansa na naglalayong palakasin at isulong ang Responsible Pet Ownership sa buong Munisipalidad ng Malay.

Ang ikalawang pagdinig na ito ay naging pagkakataon upang maisama ang lahat ng mahahalagang rekomendasyon at amendments na inilahad ng ating mga stakeholders, upang matiyak na ang ordinansa ay magiging makatarungan, praktikal, at epektibong maipapatupad.

Taos-puso man ako nagpapasalamat sa ating mga resource persons, sa mga kinatawan ng iba’t ibang barangay, at sa mga kinatawan ng pribadong sektor na aktibong dumalo at nagbahagi ng kanilang mahahalagang pananaw at rekomendasyon.

Lubos din ang aking pasasalamat sa Municipal Agriculture Office, sa pangunguna ni Sir Sadiasa, at sa kanyang kinatawan na si Doc Deyv, sa kanilang technical expertise at mahalagang kontribusyon sa paghubog ng panukalang ordinansa.

Maraming salamat din sa aking mga kasamahan sa Sangguniang Bayan, Hon. Apio Casidsid at Ex-Officio Member Kap. Manie Casidsid, sa kanilang suporta at mahahalagang kontribusyon sa komite.

Taos-puso rin akong nagpapasalamat sa aking very supportive na kagawad ng Barangay Manoc-Manoc, Konsehal Cruz, sa pag attend kahit di na kailangan😅. Uli yun to...😂

Maraming salamat din po, Ma’am Julia Lervic, Ma’am Rica Velasco, at ng kanilang buong team sa kanilang aktibong paggabay, technical support, at mga rekomendasyon upang mas maging epektibo at implementable ang ordinansa kapag ito ay ganap nang maisabatas.

Maraming salamat din sa ating masisipag na Sangguniang Bayan Secretariat sa kanilang walang sawang pag-alalay at pagtitiyak na maayos ang takbo ng bawat committee hearing.

Sa lahat ng mga amendment ordinances na aking napag aralan bilang SB Member, masasabi kong ito marahil ang isa sa mga pinaka-teknikal at nangangailangan ng masusing pag-aaral. Gayunpaman, sa tulong ng bawat isa, nakabuo tayo ng isang panukalang ordinansa na naniniwala akong magiging kapaki-pakinabang hindi lamang para sa Bayan ng Malay kundi maging sa iba pang mga lokal na pamahalaan, lalo na sa mga munisipalidad na ang pangunahing kabuhayan ay nakasalalay sa turismo.

Serving smiles, touching lives, and building hope. One community at a time.

With a heart committed to public service, SB Member Grengo T. Gelito, RN proudly led the UNCIANO COLLEGE DENTAL MISSION 2026, in partnership with LGU Malay under Mayor Frolibar S. Bautista, together with the Philippine Coast Guard (Boracay & Caticlan Stations) and PCG Auxiliary 609th Auxiliary Squadron.

Held last May 23–25, 2026, this mission reached 8 barangays, bringing essential dental care closer to our people:

Through this initiative, almost 3,000 Malaynons received FREE services:
Tooth Extraction, Tooth Filling, Cleaning, and Fluoride treatment for children ages 5–12.

More than smiles, we also helped save lives through a Blood Drive Program in Brgy. Caticlan, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross Aklan & Boracay Chapter and MHO.

Lubos po akong nagpapasalamat sa ating masipag, dedikado, at butihing Hon. Mayor Frolibar S. Bautista sa tiwala na ipinagkaloob sa akin na magsilbing Officer-in-Charge ng Office of the Municipal Mayor sa nakalipas na tatlong (3) araw.

Isang malaking karangalan po para sa akin ang mabigyan ng pagkakataong pansamantalang gampanan ang tungkuling ito bilang bahagi ng aking patuloy na paglilingkod sa ating bayan. Para sa akin, higit sa anumang posisyon ang responsibilidad na makatulong sa maayos na pamamahala at sa patuloy na pag-unlad ng ating Munisipalidad ng Malay.

Naging matagumpay ang isinagawang Consultative Meeting kaugnay ng Proposed Amendment sa Pet Ordinance ng Bayan ng Malay, na may partikular na pagtutok sa Isla ng Boracay. 🐾

Dumalo sa pulong ang mga kinatawan ng iba’t ibang sektor, mga opisyal ng pamahalaan, at mga stakeholders upang talakayin ang mga hakbang na magpapalakas sa responsableng pag-aalaga ng alagang hayop, kapakanan ng mga hayop, at pagpapanatili ng kalinisan at kaligtasan ng ating komunidad, lalo na sa isang world-class tourism destination tulad ng Boracay.

Sa pamamagitan ng konsultasyong ito, naibahagi ng mga kalahok ang kanilang mga suhestiyon, pananaw, at mga alalahanin na makatutulong upang higit pang mapabuti at mapagtibay ang ordinansa para sa kapakinabangan ng mga residente, pet owners, at mga bisita.

Ang sama-samang pagkilos na ito ay patunay ng ating pagsisikap na mapanatili ang isang responsable, ligtas, at pet-friendly na komunidad, kasabay ng pagpapanatili sa reputasyon ng Boracay bilang isang malinis at maayos na isla.

Maraming salamat sa lahat ng dumalo at nagbahagi ng kanilang mahahalagang ideya at rekomendasyon sa mahalagang talakayang ito.

A productive Consultative Meeting was held on March 7, 2026 at the Brgy. Balabag Conference Room in preparation for the upcoming wide Dental, Medical Mission with Blood Drive, initiated by Hon. Grengo T. Gelito, RN, Chairman on Public Health and Sanitation.

This collaborative effort brought together key partners committed to serving our community:

• Municipal Health Office represented by Dr. Athena Magdamit
• PCGA–DAS represented by Ms. Bhing Torres and Ms. Desiree Segovia
• Rotary Club of Boracay Island represented by Atty. Immanuel Sodusta and Ms. Jen Pelingon

Grateful to join my fellow Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Boracay Island in our continued Anti-Bullying Project at Manocmanoc Elementary School.

Seeing the smiles of around 200 young students reminds us why community service matters—teaching kindness, respect, and courage to stand against bullying.

Together, through small acts of care, meaningful talks, and shared moments of joy, we continue to plant seeds of compassion and confidence in the hearts of our children.
