Little Minds, Big Futures!

The Sto. Niño Youth Council (SNYC) conducted its General Assembly for August! With the observance of National Children's Month, we are reminded of our duty to build a future where the youth are empowered, protected, and heard. The meeting focused on financial discipline—reinforcing the importance of transparency, wise budgeting, and accountability in every project we undertake, ensuring that every resource serves our advocacy and our community. We also laid out our upcoming activities, gearing up for meaningful initiatives that put the welfare of children and the youth at the heart of what we do.

We are grateful to everyone who actively participated—your dedication and passion continue to empower our advocacy.

Let's keep the spirit of leadership and camaraderie as we move forward together this year!

"Almost everything that is great has been done by youth." — Benjamin Disraeli

The Sto. Niño Youth Council (SNYC) Officers recently gathered for their monthly Officers' Meeting to plan and prepare for the exciting activities ahead. The meeting focused heavily on laying the groundwork for National Children's Month this November, with the team brainstorming programs and initiatives that will celebrate, inspire, and uplift the children in our community.

Beyond Children's Month, we also mapped out a packed lineup of upcoming activities and projects for the rest of the year—all aimed at strengthening our advocacy, fostering youth participation, and creating meaningful experiences for the community.

Together, we remain committed to empowering young people, promoting active participation, and making a lasting positive impact through service, leadership, and advocacy.

“The Filipino is worth dying for."
— Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino

On Ninoy Aquino Day, we remember a man who traded his safety for his country's freedom. His return to the Philippines on August 21, 1983—knowing full well the risk—was the ultimate act of love for country. Ninoy believed that democracy was worth fighting for, and that the Filipino people deserved better than silence and fear.

As the youth, we carry that torch forward. The fight for truth, justice, and freedom doesn't end with a single day of remembrance—it's a daily choice to stay informed, to speak up, and to hold power accountable. In our own ways, in our own generation, we honor Ninoy not just with words, but with action.

May this day remind us that one voice—no matter how young—can move a nation.

Democracy is a verb. Let's live it.

CSE Starts Within Our Homes and Families. 🏠💗

The Sto. Niño Youth Council (SNYC) representatives, adviser and FIAT scholars’ parents attended Likhaan Center for Women’s Health’s 4th and 5th Learning Sessions on Sexuality Beliefs and Adult–Youth Dynamics on August 18, 2026, at the VS Hotel Convention Center.

The session highlighted different sexuality beliefs within the community and explored how adults and young people can work together to better support and implement Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE).
SNYC representative Gennica Dela Cruz also took the stage to share her key takeaways and reflections from the session.

CSE is not learned only in school. It also begins within ourselves—with our parents, trusted adults, families, homes, and communities. By creating spaces where young people can ask questions, be heard, and learn without judgment, we can build a community where every child and young person is empowered with accurate information, respect, and understanding.
