SSC ANNOUNCEMENT:

Re: TUITION AND OTHER FEES INCREASE (TOFI)

Tomorrow, February 26, 2014, at exactly 12 noon, a MULTI-SECTORAL COMMITTEE will convene at the President's conference room; the said committee will be discussing the proposed TUITION AND OTHER FEES INCREASE (TOFI) for the next academic year.

According to the CHED Memorandum Order #3 s2012, each sector shall be represented by representatives. Our sector shall be represented by a sole student through the SSC President.

For the first time in the history since the De La Salle System took over our university, there will be a COLLEGE PARENTS' ASSOCIATION representative that will be present in the meeting. It is on a sad note that there was no clear instruction wherein such association that will include our parents was disseminated.

To add, in our analysis, there were certain lapses in the provisions of CMO3 s2012 that were not met in the process.

Now more than ever, we ask all Lasalyanetans to please partake and be involved in this momentous decision making process that will concern all of us by simply:

WEARING BLACK TOMORROW.

How to claim the ticket?

1. All payment should be done through the Cashiers' office, the official receipt (O.R.) shall be presented in the SSC office or at the SSC booth in the LSB lobby to claim your ticket/s and waiver form/s.

2. For those who want to WATCH and PAY LATER, you can choose to add the the ticket payment through your respective miscellaneous fee by signing in the registration sheet in the SSC office or at the SSC booth. However, the SSC will not be held liable if such will be a dilemma in claiming your examination permit. SO PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE.

::Are the ALUMNI and OUTSIDERS permitted to join?::

YES. The SSC will be accommodating only a certain amount of visitors so there will be a PRE-REGISTRATION starting on January 25, 2014 until Thursday, January 30, 2014.

1. ALUMNI and OUTSIDERS TICKET PRICE IS PEGGED AT Php 200.00 each.

2. ALUMNI and OUTSIDERS can claim their tickets as early as Monday or on the activity itself. Please take note that all financial transactions should be done through the Cashiers' Office only.

3. Important note on the "OUTSIDER clause," in lieu with the consideration of the safety of the whole activity, the body decided to limit this to those who have a FRIEND, RELATIVE or at the very least, a connection in the University--he/she should come with a friend/acquaintance upon entry.

4. ALUMNI and OUTSIDERS are expected to dress properly and follow the DRESS CODE POLICY of the University. They are to present their ALUMNI identification card for the alumni, and a VALID ID for the outsiders.

5. Those who will be violating any of the provisions above (like pre-registration) shall be denied of entry in the University.

STATEMENT ON THE REMOVAL FROM OFFICE OF THE FORMER SSC VICE PRESIDENT FOR EXTERNAL AFFAIRS

The Supreme Student Council together with the four (4) College Student Councils would like to inform the student body and community that Ms. Joyce Maghacot is no longer the SSC Vice President for External Affairs effective this date, indicted by the SSC-CSC Resolution 009 known as the: RESOLUTION PROMULGATING THE REMOVAL FROM OFFICE OF THE CONCURRENT SSC VICE PRESIDENT FOR EXTERNAL AFFAIRS.

Employing the principles of a Lasalyanetan student leader together with transparent and accountable leadership, six (6) out of eight (8) councilors present in the December 10, 2013 hearing voted to impeach Ms. Joyce Maghacot in the first article of impeachment charged against her, specifically: 1. Gross inability to perform her duties in the SSC and SAC.

Subsequently, there was a given time for an appeal until December 13, 2013; the defendant managed it to submit such yet in our January 7, 2014 meeting that shall discuss the appeal, the defendant without prior notice or defined constructive reason was not present, thus, making her appeal voided. The collective unanimously voted to carry on with the indicted decision which is removal from office and removing all rights and privileges inherent in the SSC Constitution and the Election Code—councilors removed through the impeachment process are barred from running for any elective position in the SSC-CSC.

We will be discussing in the following days with regards the vacancy in the Office of the Vice President for External Affairs.

If there will be questions regarding this, everyone is invited to come to the Office of the Supreme Student Council for clarifications. All pertaining documents, minutes of the whole impeachment process and resolutions, are available for the student body’s consumption.
