Malabon City is among the most flood-prone areas in Metro Manila. During the recent period of heavy rains and monsoon-triggered flooding, several communities in Barangay Hulong Duhat and Barangay Pangulo were severely affected. Many families were displaced, homes were inundated, and access to food, clean water, and hygiene supplies became extremely limited. The affected residents—many of whom are low-income families—urgently needed assistance to recover from the immediate impacts of flooding, such as loss of livelihood, illness due to exposure, and lack of basic supplies. On August 3,2025, Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Rotary organizations came together to respond with a unified humanitarian initiative—Project SAGIP A Joint Humanitarian Project by the Rotary Club of Malabon East, Rotary E-Club of CAMANAVA , Rotaract Club of Malabon Pioneer , and Malabon Filipino Chinese Fire Volunteer (RCC).

Born to Smile is a life-changing humanitarian program that offers free cleft lip and cleft palate surgeries to children and adults from underprivileged backgrounds. Cleft conditions are more than cosmetic—they can lead to serious health, speech, and emotional challenges if left untreated. Unfortunately, many families around the world cannot afford the surgery needed to correct them. This initiative brings together skilled surgeons, medical professionals, and volunteers who donate their time and expertise to perform safe, high-quality procedures at no cost to the patient. Through local partnerships and global support, Born to Smile reaches those most in need—restoring not just faces, but dignity, confidence, and hope for the future. With every surgery, Born to Smile gives individuals the chance to eat, speak, and smile freely—because everyone deserves the right to a healthy, happy life.

This project focuses on installing solar-powered street lights within and around the City of Malabon University to enhance safety, visibility, and accessibility for students, faculty, and visitors. The initiative addresses poorly lit areas such as walkways, parking spaces, and open grounds, which can pose safety risks especially during evening hours or power interruptions. By utilizing renewable solar energy, the project ensures continuous and cost-efficient lighting while reducing dependence on electricity. The improved illumination promotes a safer campus environment, supports extended academic and extracurricular activities, and contributes to a more secure and student-friendly community.
