The Rotaract Club of Makati West - UMak is a school-based organization sponsored by the Rotary Club of Makati West, RID3830, Philippines.

Rotaract clubs are part of a global effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world. This effort starts at the community level but knows no limits in its outreach. Rotaractors have access to the many resources of Rotary International (RI) and The Rotary Foundation. Rotary International provides the administrative
support that helps Rotaract clubs thrive Rotaract is an internatio

nal program for young men and women ages 18 to 30 who believe they can make a difference. Rotaract clubs provide an opportunity for young adults to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service. Rotaract was founded in 1968 by Rotary International, a worldwide association of service-minded business and professional leaders. Today there are over 6,000 Rotary-supported Rotaract clubs with more than 130,000 members in some 120 countries around the world. Clubs are either community-based or university-based. Most ROTARACT activities take place at the club level. ROTARACT clubs hold formal meetings, usually every two weeks, which feature speakers, special outings, social activities, discussions or visits to other clubs. Club members also get together for service projects, social events or professional/leadership development workshops. Rotaract clubs associate at the ROTARY district level where they are represented by an elected Rotaractor, the District Rotaract Representative, and his or her committee. This association of clubs at the district level provides the opportunity for joint Rotaract club conferences, project, training and leadership seminars and other cooperative activities. It also strengthens and promotes long-lasting friendships between club members.

Last April 25, 2026, RACStory blossomed with stories of service, leadership, and purpose as we gathered for an inspiring journey through time—honoring the roots, celebrating the present, and igniting the future of Rotaract.

We were deeply honored to learn from remarkable leaders who brought life to the essence of Rotary and Rotaract. Ms. Ruth Agdan, the District Rotaract Area Representative for MunParLa, opened the event with a comprehensive and enlightening overview of the Rotary movement. This was followed by IPP Gerardo “Gerry” Laperal of the Rotary Club of Makati West, who beautifully traced the club’s rich history and its unwavering commitment to service.

PP Timothy Masangkay moved hearts with his powerful Rotaract journey—one that reflects transformation, purpose, and the profound impact of service in communities. Adding to this tapestry of inspiration, PP Ramon Guerrero shared meaningful words of encouragement for scholarship applicants of the Rotary Club of Makati West and Rotary Club of Nagoya Airport, as well as for aspiring Rotaractors ready to take their first step into service.

From stories of the past, to the passion of the present, and the promise of a purposeful future—RACStory reminded us that service is not just an act, but a legacy we continue to build together.

Represented by UGP Kimshane Jumawan and PE Ahlam Hamdouch, the club took part in the Third Leaders’ Meeting, a gathering of passionate leaders across the district. Through the mass friendship signing, we continue to build lasting relationships and stronger connections with fellow Rotaract clubs. ✨
